My biggest problem with TTRPGs is people keep insisting I should WANT to play games, or play in adventures, where I can't make my character Sonic The Hedgehog
This sounds like a shitpost but I cannot emphasize how genuine it is

The Wildsea TTRPG adventure Storm of Whispers continues November 27th. Listen to the sound of the waves yet again wherever you listen to podcasts.
Can’t believe Dick Chaney couldn't even last four days into No Nut November
I'm not a proper D&D hater because I prefer to analyse the game's dysfunctional culture of play as a product of economic incentives rather than a product of the text. A TRUE hater must be prepared to blame anything and everything on the text of the rules, up to and including their parents' divorce.

If rules in a #ttrpg exist to make sure that not a single person gets to tell the whole story, a large detailed setting disconnected from the rules can work in the opposite direction. Strong vibes given by genre, touchstones, artwork, an opening pitch, etc. are how a game makes its setting playable.
I feel like a big, greasy, perpetual chili filled drive thru breakfast burrito this morning. I’m hungry for one, as well.
Lancer ttrpg looks cool as hell. Anyone got any good actual play pod recs for this game? #lancer
this is a doozy. it's the cover for TORG: The Cyberpapcy. It's got a pope who's got all these little cybernetic enhancements. Like a metal chin. And eye. And popehat. He looks like the cyber dragon from yugioh. The subtitle is "THE SOURCEBOOK OF CYBER RELIGIOUS REALITY"
really hoping the new pope is cyberpope from torg: the cyberpapcy
Discovered today you can’t buy booze on Sunday mornings in TN. Joking in the car with my mother in law, “So the only place to drink before 10am on Sunday… is in church.” She laughed. Bird shit hit my window at eye level.
God works in mysterious ways.
A tall saguaro cactus let up by the setting sun. The sky is beautiful and lit up in yellows oranges and pinks.

One of the best parts of sharing your setting ideas with friends is when they misinterpret something about the world, and your immediate response is "wait. damn. that kicks ass actually. yeah, that's canon now"
Solo ttrpg idea: you play all of the employees/employers of a small business. You draw cards and roll dice to take loans, hire people, and experience ‘customers’. Stepping into each characters role as the business grows, playing each part of the company, each with different goals and wants.
