Wie wichtig es ist, dass wir unsere Fähigkeit zu Mitgefühl bewahren. Und gleichzeitig bedeutet Mitgefühl nicht, dass man politische Verantwortlichkeit ausblenden muss
Why don’t facts matter at all anymore? T.M.: This is like asking why love doesn’t matter anymore. A government, or corporation, or group of conspiracy theorists choosing to ignore facts does not mean that those facts are meaningless or unimportant. I imagine this question was likely asked from a place of despair: Why is it that people seem to be ignoring facts, brushing aside clear data they don’t like or disagree with? It’s human nature to nurse one’s dearly held beliefs like we nurse resentments. But facts will always matter for the same reason that truth matters and love matters: because, at our core, in the end, we believe they do.
