If we do not meet in the next life I hope you live wild. Find me in the world after that and tell me everything.

"Shit, the consequences of my actions."
I really want to understand who decided that the sound electric vehicles should make is "painfully high pitched whine".
It doesn't need to sound electric. It just needs to make a sound so people know it's there. You know. Like a car already does. Mimic an engine ffs.
Today's hike. 🏞️🥾😊
I'll also be in SF Thursday and Friday if anyone is local to either place and wants to hang out!
Stoked to be in Santa Clara next Tuesday to see @shannonvallor.bsky.social speak about her fantastic book The AI Mirror.
Reach out if you'd like to get together for a drink and a chat! 🥳

What are we doing to make development fun instead of repetitive, assembly line completion of stories especially in legacy environments?
I asked it to analyze if the form met Deloitte's Trustworthy and Responsible Tech framework and it told me how it did and didn't, and then made updates so that it does, and explained how it now meets that criteria.
It's a cat info form y'all. The most ethical and secure cat info form ever.
It figured out the best packages for what we're doing and requested I install them. It explains every thing it's doing and why. It's prioritizing accessibility.
It decided we needed a cat weight field, which I disagree with but that's okay.
What's neat is that I keep giving it basic instructions and it just runs with it, but I'm the final say in all of it. It decided we needed a personality checkbox list as well as determined favorite toys, names, and breeds lists independently.
I struggle with vibe coding for the same reason I struggle with any voice activated assistants... I don't like talking out loud to machines. In related news GitHub CoPilot in agent mode created me a basic cat info intake form in like 10 minutes. Pretty neat stuff.

My blog is back—now at guy.dev!
I’m writing mostly about tech—code, career, and comms. But there’ll be some ham radio—which I guess is comms—and TTRPG content too. And, the occasional weird idea.

And yes, the mobile experience sucks. I'm on it.
Blessings today on my amazing partner for bringing me a very dirty chai from our favorite coffee shop because my day started with meetings at 6am and is continuing with meetings through 3pm. Truly the world is a safer place for his actions. 🥰
This is Monster. 😐

Hi Shannon, any updates on the possible Applied Ethics Masters program? 😊 Like is that imminent or a couple few years out?
I think sometimes people in Ohio forget that much of Eastern Ohio especially is actually the foothills of old Appalachia.
I don't think the land itself has forgotten, though.
Today I'm letting myself have awareness and acknowledgement for the things in me that I normally try to suppress for the comfort of others.
Thank you, @lesliejanderson.bsky.social for the reminder.
@earthforestskye.bsky.social You might find the painting music interesting.
The night sky over #MammothMountain tonight on my walk. Not sure how this will load for everyone.
Taken on my phone so there's definitely artifacting. 😊
Would it benefit my career if I moved to a city or more central location? Probably.
Counterpoint, though, this benefits my soul, and I can't find a walk like this in the city.
