There were a few books animated on TV, and narrated by Victoria Wood where the kid protagonist gets eaten! Great got homework now! XD

I remember a kids book called 'Not Now Bernerd' where a boy struggles to get the attention of his parents. When he tells them there is a monster in the garden who wants to eat him, they still say "Not now Bernerd". Bernerd gets eaten by the monster.
