With your statements in headlines I have to ask, was there a solid plan on how you'd explain Kylo's return? His death seemed pretty final in TROS and I imagine Disney wanted to avoid a "somehow Palpatine returned" situation. Thanks and no worries if you can't reply, my family is just very curious!

Sounds excellent.
+ makes Jackie's demise way more moving & meaningful bc we spent 5-10 hours with him instead of an hour.
I don't think you should've become a notable person pre-relic heist, just having some time to go from total nobody > unknown but competent merc > that allows you to get the sole connection for the heist
Hmmm, might be an agree to disagree thing but you showed it in a montage so it did fit the story shape since the character actually did go through it, right? So it is part of the story..just not one we got to experience ourselves. This stunted our emotional connection to Jackie IMO.
I just wanted to play it, which makes sense bc it's a game. I feel like play, don't show is a good philosophy when possible in immersive games. Especially one that really minimized cutscenes otherwise, presumably for immersion's sake.
have been better. And then you would also have way more of a connection to Jackie instead of how they speed ran through that.
Clearly they thought the player needed scenes to show a connection with Jackie, learning the ropes and a passage of time.
Maybe "make a mark" was the wrong way to put it, and yes I don't mean rising up to the top, but going from a complete new face to Night City (or a Corpo who has never got their hands dirty in the underworld) to a merc that at least has one major connection (that enables you to get the heist) would
"damn I just spent 15 hours trying to make a name for myself but I'm low on the totem pole". Plus you would have way more of a connection with Jackie instead of them trying to make you feel for someone you met 1h before (IRL time).
Think BotW early game where you don't have a lot of hearts, stamina, have to scrounge for weapons etc.
That's still "rising up" and would have made the fact that nobody in the Afterlife knew you even more impactful, like
> congrats, now you're a small time merc who can afford their own apartment.
I mean that would have been enough for me, I just wanted to play it. The early game in open world games is often the most memorable because you're just scraping by, using makeshift weapons and tactics etc.
To me it felt like a speed-run, I didn't think "wow this is a cool montage" I thought "wtf rugpull, I wanted to experience those moments!" instead. The overall plot and quests are amazing for sure so I don't mean to be rude, I just found that part extrordinarily disappointing specifically.
Think of something like Saints Row where narratively you're a low-level criminal part of the lowest gang that's working your way up to becoming the Boss and making the Saints a respected and feared name again. Same sort of idea but in Night City as a merc instead of a gang leader.
The goal would be to become famous or notorious enough in Night City to make connections and prove yourself to get a big job. Montaging it looked cool but made it feel less earned than actually experiencing those elements. Especially when you picked a non-Corpo start.
Totally disagree here, I eventually learned to love CP2077 but one of the disappointing aspects at launch was that the "rise up and make your mark" part was montage'd. Rising up in Night City was very alluring to me.
Plus often the early game aspects are the most memorable, look at BotW for ex.
Can you imagine if somebody invaded the US and our allies were like, "You want back all your land? Even Ohio? It's just way too far."

My timeline went from UFOs to the rise of dictatorship in the United States in 2.15 seconds...
I mean months.
Between Musk (SpaceX) and Palmer Luckey (Anduril) and 7+ years of Thiel's subtle narrative control, the techbro-fascists really do have everything in place they'd need to pull off a hypothetical Project Blue Beam.

Idk y'all, I'm starting to think the DMC screwing Bernie over in favor of Hillary might not have been the wisest move.
Yeah I'm definitely pro-disclosure, know UAP are real etc. but this isn't going to move the needle. Honestly shocked they made a big deal about a video like this.
Hope there's more in store...
Makes a lot of sense. Whether native to Earth, long-time inhabitants originally from elsewhere or if they have the technology to come and go easily enough that it's not their home, base(s) in the oceans seem like a good guess on where they'd station themselves.
Matthew Pines clarifies the "coup de grace":
- A very senior official has gone on the record talking about the UAP subject.
- He will confirm the reality of NHI.
- His testimony has already been recorded by [unknown].
- It is scheduled to be released soon (~January/February).

This sums it up, yes.
