I’m really glad I found your post and shared with others. It’s very important to pass on information helpful to understanding our political system so we can make it better!

Lacerations don't heal in 3 days. It's a physiological impossibility. I will stake my 4 decade career on it.

Prove me wrong.

Our problem is the 80 million people in our country that don’t bother to vote!

I agree! Hungary is our model!

Whether or not our next president is going to be a woman or a man should not be our focus, but whether IF we have a democracy again!

Hungary is our model for what American voters must do and how this Nov 2026 AND in 2028, to remove the MAGA cancer that is Donald Trump and his entire MAGA Congress.

The dumpster "attempt" and Kirk's death. This guy was at both. Sure smells like set ups.

All excellent points Puget Bob. I’ll need to do some research but your point makes sense. My argument is we need to simply(understatement) turn our Congress Blue. Then deal with Dtrumpf and this regime. Then we can progress towards a Social Democracy.

And that, friends, is why Republicans WANT bigger deficits—because their rich donors prefer to earn interest on their wealth (at taxpayer expense) than contribute to the general welfare by paying taxes.
Why doesn't anyone ever talk about this? Beats me. Media? @democrats.org? Anybody?

• Instead of *paying* the government taxes, you're *loaning* the government the windfall you enjoyed by *not* paying taxes—and collecting interest.
It's a brilliant scam, actually. A perfectly legal way to redistribute money from ordinary taxpayers to rich investors.

• If you're a rich person who just got a big tax cut, that puts lots of extra money in your pocket.
• What do you do with that money? Why, you buy T-bills! And enjoy a safe, guaranteed return.
• So—presto!—the taxes you DON'T pay are transformed into an interest-bearing asset, at taxpayer expense!

Here's the deal, as simply as possible:
• Tax cuts for the rich increase the deficit.
• When tax revenue isn't enough to pay the government's bills, it has to borrow money, mostly in the form of T-bills. These are considered the safest investment there is, and sometimes they're in short supply.

Now, everyone knows that the ballooning deficit gives Republicans an excuse to scream "We HAVE to cut social programs!" (which—again—never happens, because voters like them).
But this "cover story" is revealed as smoke and mirrors, when you understand why they actually LIKE deficits. Ready?

1 year ago 6 1 1 0

For all their sanctimonious wailing about "out of control spending", has any Republican administration ever really gotten serious about cutting it? (the Trump/Musk wrecking crew doesn't count, because they're not real Republicans.)
The reason is simple: government programs are POPULAR!

1 year ago 13 4 4 0

So the Republican program *as actually implemented* is:
• Complain about spending and the deficit
• Don't cut spending
• But insist on cutting taxes for rich people
• Thereby *increasing* the deficit
(Reminder: "deficit hawk" Reagan massively increased the federal debt!)

This isn’t 2018. I agree that Schumer and Jeffries are not the right leaders to take us forward.
What makes you think progressive candidates have the money and support to win?

34 minutes ago 0 0 0 0

Please don’t ever question my motives. I’m sick and tired of our current government and first and foremost us to turn our Congress Blue! Most of the status quo’s Democrats are true enough to our constitution. One step at a time. You go trying to elect ultra progressive Democrats you will not win.

34 minutes ago 0 0 1 0

Now I'm questioning your motives.

It's our duty to pressure politicians & it's proven to work, but not when you don't even try because it's "difficult."

And spare me with the "trouble getting elected" talking point. We need change and we won't get it with the existing Do Nothing Dems.

History seems to show that political alliances often live on as zombies long after they have outlived their usefulness. A sort of inertia.

1 hour ago 1 1 1 0

Difficult to pressure politicians. New progressives might have trouble getting elected. I’m not disagreeing but now it’s important that we take back the House and Senate

Pressure them to break from Israel and vote in new progressives.

2 hours ago 2 1 1 0

I get it but what’s your solution?

2 hours ago 0 0 1 0

Have you checked the Track AIPAC website? The majority of Dems are raking in money from the Israel lobby. That's why they never criticize them, never advocate for Palestinians, and continue sending them more weapons. Our tax dollars are paying for their healthcare, housing, and education.
