However, I will most likely have to figure out how to fit an 8'9 or 8'3 (posthu)man through 8' doors. Do I have him crouch through the doors? Do I use bigger doors? Do I just not show him going through doors?

Some sites say it's 1/16 of a foot for architecture, and 1/12 of a foot for characters, but I think architecture in GoldSrc and Source generally uses 1/12 of a foot (or an inch) too. I think it makes sense for a lot of doors in HL1 to be 8 feet tall (96 HU) rather than, like, 6 feet

Who said that Hammer Units were 1/16 of a foot rather than an inch. Why would Gordon (and therefore most playble GoldSrc and Source characters) be 4.5 feet tall and Ranger 3.5 feet tall
