Have a listen to my son Michael and his mate Cian, (The Achill Lads). Their new single, ‘The Big Drum’s Beating’, is about St Patrick’s Day in Achill. It’s on all the music services and we’ve just heard they’re No.1 on iTunes!

I’ll bet it was done deliberately too.

For the life of me, I don’t know why designers ever thought touchscreens for drivers were a good idea. They’re especially awkward in right-hand-drive cars, where drivers have to use their usually clumsy left hand to operate them. #DistractedDriving

Just finished series 4 of Slow Horses, and I loved it. Filmmakers use a colour palette in set design and colour grading to give the film an overall theme. Once you notice it you can’t miss it. I’ll just say TEAL is a very common TV design palette, and they use it liberally. 👀

For Americans, having to use paper straws is what makes them realise how unfair some of the measures to reduce carbon emissions are to the common man. In Ireland, it’s nearly half the population living without heat, power, water or communications after severe winds.

When we renovated our old cottage in 1986/7, we ran the power line underground from the pole on the road to our ESB meter box. It has never failed in the 39 years since then. Every other line around us has let us down at one time or another, but not that one. Bury it @esbnetworks.bsky.social

I think it’s AI. This is probably happening in federal buildings, but the image doesn’t look real. Just a bucket of battleship grey, a roller and one short drop cloth? No ladder, no painter’s rags, etc. There’d have to be something in the bucket to prepare the roller for paint application.

I had a Cortina like that. Bought it for £40 and it would never start after that, so it was just left parked on Beechwood Ave in Ranelagh. No idea whatever happened to it.

I can’t think of many things more boring than listening to self-aggrandised ‘seers’ droning on about subjects in which I have little interest and they have even less knowledge.

Anyone else having trouble checking or reporting a fault on ESB Power Check? Im sure it’s inundated, but I haven’t been able to get past ‘I’m a human, not a robot’ since Friday morning.

In Ireland we call it constructive dismissal, and it’s illegal.
