they spent a decade training audiences that every moment matters and each film is telling a small piece of a larger story then spent the last 5 years floundering.

Doomsday will still crush at the box office but it will be entirely devoid of "the juice".

They are 100% going to recontextualize that audio cue at the end of the movie. They'll turn the sound of Tony working on his amour into Doom working on his mask.

…if I did a Crowdfund to help buy back the rights to a project, you think folks would back it?

I’d share the work we have completed to anyone who supports the fundraiser.

Really enjoyed this episode.

If you're new to Off Panel, this week's episode with @pornsak.bsky.social is a great example of what the show's all about. It's about Absolute Green Arrow on the surface, but it's really about Pornsak entering a new phase in his career and everything that comes with it. It's a good one. Listen up!

I'm so sorry to hear this, James. I'm sure you'll find a new home in no time! You've edited some of the best indies of the last 4 years.

Hey folks, after nearly 4 years at Mad Cave, I was let go this morning. It was a wonderful time getting to work with an amazing list of creators. If we have worked together, please stay in touch. I am available for freelance editing and would love to work with you all in the future.

The opening anecdote of that Atlantic story had 9 (NINE!!!) sources. That many sources means virtually everyone sees this dude as a problem. So this is just political theatre.

I remember when I first moved to Vancouver and went to the big 4/20 party and bought edible cookies. I ate two of them and got so stoned that I just lied on my couch with my arms folded with tears in my eyes for 6 hours. I never went again.

I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again

There's something brilliant about taking the Gothic trope of "the grotesque" and amping it all the way to 11 in Absolute. It's something that's found in most of the original Batman villains but these updates are disgusting and iconic. You can't take your eyes off them.

Hey it's #SupermanDay!

I recommend you read SUPERMAN FOR ALL SEASONS. A timeless Superman story told from the POVs of those closest to him. It's filled with gorgeous moments like these from Tim Sale with beautiful colours from Bjarne Hansen. There's really nothing like it.
