Finding little games such as on LinkedIn and NY Times fun, and I’m now hooked on this map game. Typically, I’m horrible. But today I did pretty good.

Can we just tell 🍊🤡💩 he won the Nobel Peace Prize and fly him toward Oslo… only to “layover” in The Hague and drop him off at the International Court of Justice for his war crimes trial?

I hit my daily Move goal for the 2,000th time on my #AppleWatch
@brenttoderian.bsky.social A decade ago I relocated to London after 18 years in NYC. Had I moved from another part of the US, where I wasn’t already accustomed to walking and public transit, I don’t think the transition would have been as easy. I’ve never needed to own a car 🚗

Given the perilous situation 🍊🤡💩 has plummeted us into this weekend, the nightmare continues.
I had the pleasure of hearing @columbiauniversity.bsky.social Professor Joseph Stiglitz speak about the challenges facing the global economy. I was especially honored by his generosity in taking the time to speak with me one-on-one about my PhD research.

The year 2031 seems a long way off, but we’ll just have to wait. I’m glad #UniversalStudios has received all the need planning permission to break ground. With my background in live entertainment, I know how many creative jobs this will support and will be a boost to the UK.
My background is on lumber–built residential offsite construction. But given the challenges facing the construction industry, it’s key to utilize a range of building techniques to solve problems. For example, this @nytimes.com story leveraging 3D printing to erect a train station in rural Japan.
The Columbia Spectator is a student run and managed newspaper, and they’ve been doing a very good job covering the news on campus. www.columbiaspectator.com/columbia-in-...
This was a response to those who broke into a university building and vandalized it. My understanding is that holding of degrees is temporary until further investigation can take place.
@brenttoderian.bsky.social The tweet posted is an over simplification of what has been happening. The University Judicial Board issued expulsions, temporary degree revocations, and multi-year suspensions for students involved in the April 2024 occupation of Hamilton Hall on Thursday.
Thought they stuck the landing with the final episode. Excited for it to be returning, but hope they have a story worth telling. Given the world we're living in, I think we could all use a bit of Ted's optimistic outlook on life. #TedLasso #AppleTV+

@mchshe.bsky.social is also self-financing a new national theater to fill the gap left by the 2024 shutdown of National Theatre Wales, forced to close after a 1.6 million pound ($1.96 million) funding cut.
In a world of full of the likes of Elon Musk, be like @mchshe.bsky.social The Welsh actor has started a debt acquisition company and has written off £1 million ($1.29 million) of debt for 900 people using £100,000 ($129,000) of his own money.

Ukraine’s resilience has become a symbol of courage for the world. Today, we continue to stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people as they fight for their freedom, sovereignty, and future. 💙💛
Lastly, I don’t think academics are eager to study artificial intelligence replacing advanced degree positions, as it suggests they themselves could be at risk of job loss, especially in a “publish or perish” environment.

You make a good distinction that you’re looking for people with an advanced degree being replaced by LLMs. From my experience most studies are still looking at more entry level roles (those to be replaced first by technology). For example, this study out of MIT. mitsloan.mit.edu/ideas-made-t...
5/5 Nazi lawmakers admired the flexibility of American racial laws, which often relied on vague definitions of race. This “know-it-when-I-see-it” approach to racial classification influenced how the Nazis formulated their own racial categories.

4/5 One example is the 1935 Nuremberg Laws, which stripped Jews of German citizenship and prohibited marriages between Jews and non-Jews, were directly influenced by American racial legislation.

3/5 In the 1930s, Nazi Germany studied Jim Crow laws to shape their own racist policies. The Pittsburgh Courier, a leading Black newspaper, noted in 1933, “Hitler Learns from America.” Langston Hughes summed it up: “Fascists is Jim Crow peoples, honey.”

1/5 As it’s Black History Month, and as we’re currently fighting a resurgence of fascism, let’s take a look back at how the Nazi party looked closely at American law, particularly Jim Crow laws and other discriminatory policies, as they developed their own racist legal framework.
Blue Man Group on a crowded NYC subway.
New York City bids farewell to Blue Man Group today. It’s been a remarkable run of more than three decades!
I will always fondly remember my time with the company as part of their marketing team. It was a remarkable group of creatives that continually inspire. #BlueManGroup
