If I was to guess, it’s giving “$hobby is my therapy”.
That wouldn’t be the most far fetched possibility, that’s for sure.
I think either one is maybe a little weird but together it reads like love bomb + reputation management
Let’s say a divorced, middle aged white cishet dude shows up on a first date with a gift of jewelry (a bracelet). Let’s say it’s nice, but not like *expensive*. He also spent a lot of time explaining why his divorce wasn’t his fault.
Does anyone else think that’s weird?
A person with dark wavy hair and facial hair stands in a minimalist hallway wearing a plum-toned wool suit with a relaxed silhouette. The oversized blazer is paired with a rust-colored silk shirt worn unbuttoned at the collar, creating a deliberately undone aesthetic. Matching wide-leg trousers sit at the hip with a subtle pleat, and the look is completed with black leather loafers. One hand rests casually in a pocket while they lean against a white wall beside an architectural glass-paned door, embodying a moody, contemplative ’70s-inspired tailoring moment.
An older person wearing glasses sits at a wooden table beside a window overlooking a building with bright yellow tiling. They’re dressed in a cream-colored wool blazer over a light blue dress shirt, paired with a tan and rust geometric-patterned tie. Their posture is composed and dignified, with one hand resting on the table near a white cup of coffee and a glass of water. A kelly green wall provides a striking backdrop, creating a professional, editorial quality to the portrait.
A person with a full black beard and voluminous natural hair stands at night holding an umbrella, wearing a burnt-orange tailored blazer layered over a textured rust-toned shirt and a multicolored patterned scarf in gold and brown tones. The tailored trousers match the blazer, creating a monochromatic warm-toned look. The nighttime urban setting and dramatic lighting emphasize the richness of the earth-toned color palette and the precision of the vintage-inspired menswear styling.
Okay, so I love the aesthetic of these that you highlighted, but I’m shaped like a corgi 😞😞 and designers have, by and large, told me to take a hike. Are bespoke garments my only option?

The exception to this is on the mat, but like, as a black belt, I’m supposed to tell you when you’re doing something incorrectly, especially if it’s a danger to you or your training partner.
If it’s a dude, I’ll probably politely explain something once. If it’s a woman, absolutely not unless they ask for help.

Once I was ready to be around people again I asked her if she’d go with a ball with me, since it was a place I’ve always felt safe and she happily accepted my invitation. She’d never been and I was so happy to show her something I loved. She’s been my ballroom buddy ever since.
At a time when I was so unsure of myself and so deeply and openly hurt and vulnerable, she put me at ease with her Cheshire Cat grin and full acceptance of me, in my broken state, and has loved and supported me so much as I’ve healed and grown into myself since.
A person with long dark hair in profile, illuminated by vibrant purple and magenta lighting, gazes downward with quiet contemplation against a dreamy neon-lit urban backdrop where warm amber signs glow softly through the haze—a moment of serene anticipation as Kayle waits for the vogue ball to begin.
Two people close together, bathed in vivid purple and blue neon light, share a joyful moment at the vogue ball—Kayle with dark hair and a warm smile, and Tim with a full beard and curly hair pulled back, their faces luminous with affection and delight as they celebrate together beneath the glowing industrial architecture overhead.
Appreciation post for my dear friend Kayle. We went to the ball last night with @abgushte.bsky.social.
When I was rebuilding my life after my suicide attempt, Kayle was the first friend I made, quite by happenstance, as I was waiting at a coffee shop between therapy appointments.
They can just mess up truck drivers’ gps and make them crash into the data center’s power infrastructure #truestory
"The companies on the list include Cisco; HP; Intel; Oracle; Microsoft; Apple; Google; Meta; IBM; Dell; Palantir; Nvidia; JP Morgan; Tesla; GE; Boeing."
I would simply say that if these companies are going to be war profiteers, it's not wild that they should also share some of the risk.
Every now and then I think about the time @hazelweakly.me hinted that the reason why I've never been diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum despite a few clinical assessments is that I'm so accustomed to masking that I can't unmask for the assessment and I get butthurt all over again.
This part. I gave a whole talk on this point: people who use AI to replace learning, understanding, and/or effort have little to no intellectual value to society. They have stunted their own development and will never be “good” at anything that they shortcut with AI.
Middle school sure. But to get through high school age-mis twenties as a white girl never hearing fleetwood Mac?
Yes, but you’re not a white girl, and I think that makes all the difference.
Be that as it may, one wonders what other sorts of things this person doesn’t know about.
You’re thinking of Stevie Wonder, who’s the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
If an elder millennial white girl doesn’t know who Stevie Nicks is that a:
1. Red flag
2. Infrared flag
3. Microwave flag
Someone took accidentally leaked a very popular dating app’s DB credentials in a public repo commit which I…they caught themselves after a couple of minutes also and rolled new ones, so this person feels your pain.
I made this video about developer advocacy, what it is, how I got into it, and how you can too!

Muscle <> athleticism. This guy is aesthetics only and I love seeing those guys get wrecked 😂😂😂
lol, yes. Over and over 😂😂😂😂
For Rust, shouldn’t it be decidedly less sparkly? Maybe even have some oxidation on it?
