Hearing Elliotte Friedman compare a potential Ryan O’Reilly trade to dating on Hockey Night in Canada was disappointing. Framing “no” as something to push past, even as a metaphor, reinforces harmful ideas.

Curious how the NHL & NHLPA will respond to this latest “unbecoming” behaviour. After all, if the policy they insist is “strong enough” for the worst harms, then it should be strong enough to address attitudes that fuel them.
