Well, for character!Sai’s birthday, anyway. 🤭 Thank you, baby — I love you! ❤️

This was meant to be a birthday piece for @saiaiza.bsky.social back on December 25th, but I hit a weird art shift at the time, and just could not get it finished in time.

So I'm sharing it anyway!

Sai Aiza has white hair and gray eyes; she's wearing a pink dress and making a white linen poppy bracelet for Cove. Her phone pings with a notification.

Cove Holden, green-haired and aquamarine-eyed, paces as he waits for Sai to meet him at the beach. He has a small box for her. He wears black jeans, a denim long-sleeve top with the sleeves rolled up, and blue and white sneaker. Sai approaches him, cheerful and waving.

Sai and Cove both try talking at the same time to tell each other they have a gift for the other. They dissolve into giggles.

Cove opens the box to present Sai with a silver star necklace and a white linen poppy, asking her to prom. Sai tears up with delight and presents him with the bracelet she was making, asking if he'll be hers as well. Cove says, "Always," and the pair kiss. Sai puts the bracelet on Cove and he helps Sai put the necklace on, blushing as he does.

So! I never shared this super cute commission comic @yomigummies.bsky.social did for me last summer of Cove asking Sai to prom. 💚🤍😊 9 pages in total + chibis; sharing with Yoms's permission.

A little embarrassed since he got carried away in that moment, Cove says they should worry about the prom right now. With a wink, Sai agrees. She does ask if soon they could talk about the "other stuff" (meaning: being lovers). Cove agrees that they'll talk about that soon, "Just not now." Sai agrees with that. Cove pulls her towards him, clearly more than happy to have her in his life; Sai looks just as happy.

Cute Cove and Sai chibis sitting on the beach! Artist Yoms even included a cutely written "Sai and Cove" with the "o" in Cove's name written with a heart and a heart dotting the "i" in Sai's name. They're very cute! Sai has the flower in her hair and Cove has the bracelet on. Unseen: The star necklace Cove gave her.

Saving that "deeper" convo for later is probably for the best, you two. 🤭

Cove tells Sai that the necklace really suits her. There's a soft flirtatious feeling between them and they both blush. Cove also presents Sai with the white linen poppy he had for her and she places it behind her left ear.

Cove comments that he heard flowers can mean different things depending on what ear they're placed behind but doesn't remember. Sai informs Cove that, in Hawaiian culture, a flower behind the left ear means you have a lover and that you're taken. Cove is reassured, saying, "Th-that's good. Because you are." He flusters himself since, while they are a couple, they aren't yet lovers. Sai simply smiles.

Cove continues to splutter about how they aren't lovers yet but that he totally wants that later. Meanwhile, Sai just giggles at him. She reassures him that she's happy just being a couple and they can worry about more serious lover stuff later. Cove tells her she's too nice to him as they share a sweet hug. The pair look at each other lovingly.

Cove tells Sai that her being so nice to him is one day going to lead to other things. "And I don't wanna stop when that happens," he says. Sai tells him, "Likewise." Cove expresses worry that he could hurt her since he's much bigger than her but she reassures him that he won't and that she trusts him. They share a loving kiss with the ocean behind them.

D'aww... The boy is so trying with the language of flowers! 🥹

Been listening to "APT." by ROSÉ & Bruno Mars so I think that spurred me to post this today lol

(don't ask me where the connection comes from exactly because idk)
