Whistleblower says Trump officials thought USAID did 'just abortions,' asked for 'Barney-style' slides before gutting agency, per new book Read an exclusive excerpt from Nicholas Enrich's "Into the Wood Chipper"

NEW—I got an exclusive excerpt from a USAID whistleblower's new book that made me gasp multiple times. It details Trump's dismantling of the humanitarian aid agency & his team/DOGE's shocking ignorance to public health.

'Into the Wood Chipper' by Nicholas Enrich is out tomorrow. Read excerpt here:

The #Artemis II livestream continues to be the best thing on the internet. 😍

The return-to-Earth live coverage begins at 6:30pm Eastern (in about 90 minutes) with splashdown in the Pacific scheduled for 8:07pm Eastern.

this is so crazy. like this is their little outside webcam, their shitty little low-res webcam image.
it really is just LIKE that... it's just how it looks, normally.

I kindof get it now. the "look at that you bastard" feeling. oh my god. I am a bit emotional lmao #artemis

I keep running into people and I start talking about #ArtemisII and how unbelievably cool it is and they go: “oh yeah right I guess that’s happening” and I’m like: “WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU GUESS?!?”

How can you not just absolutely lose your mind over photos like this??

Earthset captured through the Orion spacecraft window at 6:41 p.m. EDT, April 6, 2026, during the Artemis II crew’s flyby of the Moon. A muted blue Earth with bright white clouds sets behind the cratered lunar surface. The dark portion of Earth is experiencing nighttime. On Earth’s day side, swirling clouds are visible over the Australia and Oceania region. In the foreground, Ohm crater has terraced edges and a flat floor interrupted by central peaks. Central peaks form in complex craters when the lunar surface, liquefied on impact, splashes upwards during the crater’s formation.

Dismayed to discover that after watching #NASA #ArtemisII launch coverage all day that tomorrow is indeed a work day and I apparently “have to go to sleep” to “support my family” and “have responsibilities”... I’ll have to see how the apoapse maneuvers went tomorrow morning in the playback. 😭😴

You guys I can’t explain how much I love this. I know things are crazy out there but this… this is real. This is something to be proud of as a HUMAN. incredible stuff and it’s not a private company pissing around with high atmosphere. I’m so happy to have been here for this. #NASA #ArtemisII 🌕🚀

So incredibly ready for today’s planned #ArtemisII launch! A few of my favorite #LEGO kits including the SLS rocket assembly which was SO fun to build, and an art piece by my lovely wife to backdrop my Saturn V kit! Can’t wait to see today’s launch - inspiring to see what humans are capable of!
