Trump administration sends letter wiping out addiction, mental health grants The Trump administration sent hundreds of letters Tuesday terminating federal grants supporting mental health and drug addiction services.

Last night with no warning, RFK Jr. cancelled up to $2 billion in funding for mental health and substance abuse research and programs administered through SAMHSA.

He and his minions did so because “they no longer believe the defunded programs align with the Trump administration's priorities”.

But, because we are a nonprofit, that we don’t bill, means the people who haven’t been laid off will have hours cut from full time to part time just so we can stay open.

Losing this grant cost jobs, and it will cost lives.

There was a reason it was a 2 billion dollar grant.

The most we are able to do now for the youth we serve is provide them teen court services for minor infractions, or sent them to our diversion mentor ship that helps kids in the juvenile justice system.

We do not bill the youth we serve, wanting it to be accessible to anyone who needs it

We are centered in a drug heavy county, most youth that we work with have had some sort of relationship with them. Whether it was them using, a family member or a friend.

The cut means we have lost all of our therapists, meaning we can no longer help with the mental health side effects.

I work for a nonprofit, a youth violence prevention center. We have done amazing things for our community and helped so many youth, from young as 2 years old to 18 years old.

Today, one of our biggest grants got cut today due to the trump administration “straying away from leftist agendas.”

How the hell are people ment to survive in this day in age.

Literally the only ways I have seen people afford to have a place to live is by

• marrying some one in the armed forces

• having a roommates (multiple normally 3)

• living on campus at collage

I’m so tired guys 😔

Yet when you look for housing they want more than three times your income, which realistically isn’t possible for me and most people fresh out of collage.

Our average rent is $1,795.

I make $1,320.29 MONTHLY, buying a weeks worth of groceries yesterday cost me $400. For a week of food

Genuinely pissed off so I’m going to rant,

I live in one of the LOWEST income county’s in the United States. Literally one of the most rural counties in my state. We have so many people who live under the poverty line that it is 12.4% more than the national average.
