Over 300 nursing home workers at 5 Minnesota Nursing Homes have begun a three-day Unfair Labor Practices (ULP) STRIKE #UnionStrong
Posts by SEIU MN
If you are in the Twin Cities this week join nursing home workers on the picket line fighting for better conditions for workers and residents! #UnionStrong
We’re proud to support these amazing candidates who will work to make sure our schools work for every student, no matter our zip code, race or wealth.

We are proud to announce our endorsements for Minneapolis School Board! Our Union brings together thousands of school staff & parents in MPS who want to build the schools our students deserve, and we believe these candidates best share our vision for strong public schools. (1/2)
SEIU HCMNIA E-Board member Carmen traveled this week to Dilley, TX to be part of the "READ THEM HOME: End Family Detention" event to raise awareness and call for an end to children being held in detention camps Read Carmen's thoughts and find out more: www.facebook.com/share/p/1GUU...
We're so proud to have been part of the broad coalition that helped make Paid Family and Medical Leave a reality here in MN. No person should have to choose between their family's health and the paycheck that keeps a roof over their head.
You know why things aren't affordable? Because of corporate greed. While housing, energy & grocery prices skyrocket, Wall Street bonus are rising. When those at the top say they can't raise wages and then increase prices, this is where the $$ is going.
The @seiumn.bsky.social endorsed candidate for US Senate!!
NO KINGS!
Join fellow union members, workers and allies as we march to the MN #NoKings rally. We'll leave Harriet Island shortly after Noon. Join us! Live music on the island starting at 11am. #UNIONSTRONG

Unions = better pay + benefits
Unions= healthier families
Unions = stronger democracy
Unions = collective voice to stand up to the rich & powerful
That's why we fight for #UnionsForAll ✊
Look out for ways in the coming days and weeks to support the St. Francis custodians in their efforts to settle a fair contract with the school district. The SEIU 284 bargaining team will continue to seek a fair settlement, but cannot accept the current offer as is!
With 96% turnout at our union vote, the group overwhelmingly voted to reject the district’s offer and authorize a strike. (No strike has been called or set at this time.)
BIG NEWS: St. Francis custodians w/ SEIU Local 284 have taken the extraordinary step of voting to authorize a strike after rejecting the school district’s previous offer. Increased wages are top priority & they need to see the district make meaningful movement on this issue to reach a deal. (1/3)
Keep Minnesotans In Our Homes!
We are pushing our elected officials to address the crisis facing renters across our state, but the House GOP is blocking it. Take 2 minutes to send a letter to Speaker Demuth + yr #Mnleg House to keep MNs in our homes: act.seiu.org/a/keep-minne...
This week @mspairport workers + friends from UNITE HERE Local 17, @mn50501.bsky.social & JCA went to #mnleg Capitol to support bills that would ensure frontline airport workers have affordable healthcare + fair wages so they're able to do their critical work helping passengers. (1/3)
A big shout out to our powerful testifiers (Osman, Tizita, Misrak and Ayele) and our amazing authors, Rep Kaela Berg & Sen. Jen McEwen, who stood strong for workers despite pushback from those in power who want to maintain the broken status quo!
These workers help bring massive profits to the airport and help MSP win all of the awards it gets, so it's time they have affordable healthcare and fair wages so they can care for their families! (2/3)

He brought those values to his previous time in office and now, as he is in medical school in his next step as a healthcare worker, he is once again running to bring his values to the Minnesota House. Go Hunter! #mnleg
We know Hunter will be a champion for working people b/c when organizers came to his door 15 years ago when he was a home care worker, he joined the fight & was part of the largest union election in MN history when 25,000+ home care workers formed their union w/ @seiuhcmnia.bsky.social.
SEIU Minnesota State Council is proud to endorse Hunter Cantrell in his run for Minnesota House district 55B!
Wondering why politics seems like an endless series of decisions that hurt regular, working people followed by huge handouts to a rich and powerful few?

Today SEIU Local 26 Rideshare Drivers stood w/ allies to say we need to "Slam the breaks on Waymo" as we stood w/ Sen. Sen. @erinmayequade.bsky.social & Rep. Sencer-Mura who are authoring a commonsense bill at #mnleg that makes sure we're protecting MN workers & streets. More to come!
..and demanding action from those in power at the city, state & county level to ensure the people most directly impacted by the chaos of the last few months don't also lose their home. We will continue to speak out about the NEED for action because workers rights=renters rights!
Today is March 1st, and rent is due. For many union members & renters across MN who have been dealing with the terror inflicted upon our state by "Operation Metro Surge," the math just doesn't add up. Over the last few weeks SEIU members have joined others in speaking out.. (1/2)
It's clear that the ICE attacks on our communities are hurting ALL workers. It's time our country puts workers first, not billionaires.
Workers in the U.S. understand we need #UnionsForAll to win the wages, benefits & respect we deserve.
Despite the deck being stacked against us, we're fighting back. Unions are how we build a real, functioning democracy, both in our workplaces & our country. ✊

“President Trump thought he could break us, but he was wrong. Over the last three months Minnesotans showed our country what it means to stand up to tyranny & protect our communities."
