I hope it will 🤞
Or on the flip side, this thing is not SOTA, but it will run on a laptop for a fraction of the compute.

It’s supposed to be more effective with the same budget, but I will patiently wait for Sonnet upgrade which reminds me of the old GPT Turbo models.
I’m keen to see how capable the wider Qwen 3.6 family is going to be compared to the Gemma 4 models I was calling state of the art just a fortnight ago.
The 35b-a3b model wipes the floor with Gemma4 in most of the benchmarks, but is too big for me to fit in my GPU.
How have you found it? I think I saw it come up somewhere else as well.
That’s an interesting combo
I might give that a shot 🤔
I can just see the headline of one of the AI CEO positioning as our saviour
‘we saved ram by switching the browser runtime we use to scrape the web to a single Chromium WebView per server instead of 80000 independent Electron instances to reduce our overheads from 400mb per instances to just 8mb’
There at least needs to be some answer to Electron apps each spinning up an independent chromium instance
Commercial real estate lobby and cafe owners vs the fact that if there is a true diesel shortage, there will be an economic wreck ball that will hurt every sector including theirs.
Law gives religions a ridiculous amount of leeway. We have one of these do not knock stickers that don’t give anyone an illusion that they’re welcome.

if my dad had been given an appropriate home care package 2.5 years ago when he lost sight in one eye and could no longer drive, he would not be on his third long stay in hospital (last one was six months long including transition care) and now unable to safely live at home.
How is it even possible to treat customer deposits like monopoly money?
Even gig economy platforms know how to protect payments with escrow.
Why can’t we ask the same for caravan companies or any business asking for more than $10k upfront?

Switching to an ebike or an escooter (where legal) is a quick and affordable win compared to trying to buy an EV in the current market.

We call that vendor lock-in.
They made it easy to migrate from Internet Explorer and Firefox back in the day.
Funny how they made churning to other providers into a ‘security issue’
Wishing I could spend more time catching up with friends on here.
This Easter weekend has been a great opportunity to have a good rest by pottering away on some special interest projects without the rush of only having two days.
My autistic & ADHD brain is happy 😊
Chrome has been a very sick concept for probably about as long as it has existed due to the amount of data-mining to profile users to drive Google Ads sales.
I love this for our country 😊
Tax is based on profits, so it requires a fundamental shift to base tax on revenue to stop the current spiral of revenue being poured into building more data centres to reduce tax while increasing revenue and giving them the equity raise capital to build even more data centres.
It can be so tricky. I personally find guided meditation starts opening things that make it worse and even need guardrails on what grounding exercises I do.
Happy birthday 🎈
This is the script I have for staff:
Help me find this ‘mower’
I have got an item number (I/N located above add to cart on mobile site)
They key that straight in their scanner and will have info about which bay and where the stock is stored if there is none on the shelf but says available.
Google’s Gemma 4 release about 3 days ago is cream of the crop for localllm. There is a benchmark table on linked page which shows how the e4b (8b) model is better than Gemma 3 27b, but it is a pretty significant drop in capability from Gemma 4 26b and 31b versions.

Local/offline AI will get better as hardware is refined to do it. I saw a kickstarter the other week that allows you to run 120b parameters in a small machine that fits in your pocket at the fraction of the cost and wattage of a 5090 which can only run models a fraction of the size.
My Irish grandfather would have called it ‘a bit of flashness’
I second this.
I had Chargefox and Evie set up at first, but adds friction when you have to add additional apps when you’re already at the charger. NRMA is in Chargefox, but it was broken when I was as trying to use it and apparently that’s a known issue.
Unfortunately not possible to be running one app to rule them all. PlugShare has some gems in it of non-app chargers that are free to use without any logins.
I’m a bit annoyed that some of these chargers have got federal grants/loans and still want around 70c/kwh to run.
I saw a few different patterns to the ‘nice’ people
- taking advantage and not wanting to give back
- inspired them and gave them hope that if I can do it, they can too, but now don’t relate to me being disabled
- realising I’m never going to be who they’re trying to mould/manipulate me to be
