Ah yes drawing text is super slow! I would recommend drawing into an image and keeping it in memory, so you have full control over when it runs

As for uploading to the device, I think there's some sort of progressive upload for subsequent builds, which can speed things up a bit. But generally I find that's a good time to go make a cup of tea 🫖

Did you encode your music in ADPCM Wav format? I've found that any other format can introduce CPU overhead and cause performance issues.
