And even after an actual assault they managed to restrain the assailant and escort him out rather than shooting him to death.

Pretty fly for an Amish guy
It’s a real mindfuck to realize that the right will abandon the Second Amendment for a bunch of masked federal goons, but not for children slaughtered in their classrooms.
Just recalling this coin given to me as a gift from a Polish-Hungarian special forces contingent for facilitating their ability to get outside the wire with us. They weren’t interested in “staying a little back.”
Poster in a library in Godfrey, IL.
An ad just said “three decades ago in 1996” and I’m down for the count.
Chatting with an Army buddy, talking about all the duty we used to pull in Germany. Thinking how it dovetailed into the fire service and how i haven’t had a normal sleep routine for 48 years lol
Merry Christmas, Aussie-style this year with our warm temps and, of course, the appropriate wine.
Apparently I’m heart failure and back pain ads on music platforms years old.
PSA: Just passed through South County Mall for some Christmas shopping/Gen-X nostalgia and they have an extraordinarily good looking Santa with low wait time if your kid needs to get his list in.
I can’t help but think this is how the station T-shirt was started.
The Rudolph directors cut. Frankly, the way he was treated, it would come at no surprise.
Pretty fucking early to be making that assessment, Bret.
And so it was written that the prophet from Brooklyn, Adam, would bring the light and warmth of Hanukkah to the gentiles and they would rejoice.
My kids have measles, there are no toys on the shelves, and I can't afford a steak. But at least there's no sign language interpreter at White House press briefings now.
One of the many drawings we have up from the kids over the years. This one from the youngest curiously depicts me as the only white person in the family and I’m not sure how to take that.
Music apps really trying to get me to buy their paid subscription by playing those incessant gambling ads.
Yep, just looked it up on google. In rougher shape than it appears from the front.
STL firefighter trapped under a roof collapse at a fire early this morning on Ohio. Fortunately, he was rescued. www.firstalert4.com/2025/12/04/firefighter-g...
Thank you. Those early arriving crews did a phenomenal job getting organized.
Thank you! Honestly, they’re two different challenges. CM, a huge tactical challenge to cut off the fire and preserve adjacent structures. Yesterday was a “bread and butter” on Fassen that was an ass-kicker physically.
NGL, fire yesterday still has me spent. 3 floors of fire, hitting the 1st floor then moving the line to the 2nd in wet 75 lbs worth of gear. Lost my 10 lbs Halligan bar in the process, so there’s that.
This would be the time to have someone competent in the consoler-in-chief role, but I’m afraid we’re going to get the opposite.
Buildings covered in bamboo scaffolding. Like kindling.
“Sorry, can’t make it tonight. My cells are too tired from Gulf War illness” is going to be my go-to excuse from now on.
* dark humor alert
Reminded of a story my aunt told of being poor in the MO boot heel. She joked, as a kid in school, she was asked to draw a chicken. She said she just drew the feet because that’s the only part she knew.
Shopping for dinner tonight at my local grocery store and noticed neck bones and rib tips (sans the rest of the ribs) on the shelf, and thinking about how, with this economy, these are increasingly relevant options.
“The 28-point blueprint drawn up by the U.S…” better written as translated from the original Russian by the U.S.
Yep
Not sure when this happened but I’ve long thought that it isn’t a good idea to have the school playground near a busy intersection. Not in this town.
