I’m happy to share our new paper (with @mbartos.bsky.social) now out in Nature Neuroscience:
"The dentate gyrus efficiently converges LEC and MEC inputs into multimodal, highly specific and reliable environmental representations"

Congratulations to @olechsylte.bsky.social on receiving a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship! 🎉

Ole will investigate how the brain transforms spatial knowledge into goal-directed actions.

Excited to share that our IN-CODE interneuron research is featured in NANO, the science program from ZDF! Big thanks to Max Lebsanft and @mbartos.bsky.social for bringing neuroscience to a wider audience!

Happy and honoured to receive an ERC Consolidator Grant for our research on representational drift!

Postdocs interested to join this journey (ideally with prior experience in in vivo ephys/imaging): please get in touch, there will be openings soon…

Conjoint generalized and trajectory-specific coding of task structure by prefrontal neurons Neurons in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) show spatially modulated activities. Muysers et al. show that mPFC neurons fall into distinct functional classes that differ in terms of their spatial tu...

New paper out! We found functional neuron classes in the mPFC with different spatial tuning properties (generalised vs. trajectory-specific) and distinct contribution to the encoding of task space. Great job by the first author Hannah!

Representational drift in CA1? We find hidden features of stability in the internal geometry of population activity, which might help to maintain a stable downstream readout. Now preprinted thanks to a great collaboration w/ @olechsylte.bsky.social , @antjekilias.bsky.social and Marlene Bartos. 👇

Our new preprint on long-term low-frequency stimulation in MTLE is online. We show that LFS has lasting effects on seizures even during stimulation-free periods and induces ultrastructural changes at the PP synapse.
