I feel like this is the "I'm ok, but my discretionary income has damn near vanished and things are not as fun" class.
It really is just a compliment machine, made by and for guys who weren't getting compliments anymore.
We are not equipped to deal with this much adrenaline and cortisol on an hourly basis. The burnout is far beyond our regulatory capacity.
I’ve said it before, but as a kid/teen of the 80s, I really miss Peter Jennings.
30 yrs aftr Norman Finkelstein wrote this article, “First the Cherokee, now the Palestinian,” nothing has changed. Current Affairs re-released the essay, which shows the similarities between tactics used against my Cherokee ancestors & Palestinians today.
Thought this said SCREAMING instead of streaming and thought, how could you not this week?
Anyway, dyslexia is fun and this is why I reread everything.
Just saw over on Instagram that @firestorm.coop, a really awesome worker-owned radical bookstore and mutual aid hub in Asheville, NC, is struggling financially and needs support to stay open.
I highly recommend buying books from them, and becoming a sustainer on Patreon if you can!
wow, looks like a rough patch for stocks AND bondis
Man…when I was coming up as an investigative reporter at Fortune, the writing and editing process was grueling (and rewarding!). What an embarrassment this is for a brand that meant so much to us.
Happy new music from @deadpioneers.bsky.social day to all who celebrate. #indigenouspunkrock
There are dozens of us
My cursive is very cool looking, but leans the "wrong" direction (right handed-left slant) and I stopped because all my teachers would dock me points.
L’Oréal. Because he’s worth it.
No.
ICYMI: My wife wrestles with the option of being informed, but traumatized. But for journalists like me, it's our job to stay plugged in. How can we learn to cope with an exhausting 24-second news cycle?

I don’t like how accurate Gibson has been shown to be about the ”future.”
🆕 New from me this morning on @poynterinstitute.bsky.social
Is there a responsible news diet for journalists to keep our sanity? Or, should you stay off the news for a while?

The amount of gambling ads I hear is ridiculous. Just another way to move wealth to the tech ruling class.
But seriously, how fucking dumb do you have to be to run a dark money influence op on a professional influence op researcher and her influence op former reporter boyfriend? Just insane dummies. Vote Kat and she'll out this shit in Congress constantly.
I completely empathize with him, I need a year to recover from reading anything about Morrissey.
@404media.co is doing incredible journalism and I should see if I can get them to pay for my blood pressure medication since every post they make spikes it.
I'm in this post and I don't like it.
I went for a 70-mile motorcycle ride Wednesday and now the fireplace is on. 0/10
Poynter leadership alums know I mention Parkinson’s law several times throughout the week. Might have to add this.
I am so excited to announce the First America Indigenous Futures Writing Workshop Series as part of a project I’ve been working on for the past year. Applications due by March 31, apply soon, and please share with any Indigenous youth that you know! docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
New on Poynter: A better approach to AI content.
Paying for product. What a novel concept. "But If I have to pay I can't operate," is probably the tech response in a lot of cases.
To that I say, maybe you shouldn't exist then.
Very Gen-X. Fugazi was a band that formed from seminal hardcore punk band Minor Threat and Albini was a famous 90s record producer.
The amount of media/journalism people in my feed reposting the Fugazi/Albini mix is higher than I thought it would be.
Journalism definitely attracts a certain kind of person.
