For 99% of taxpayers, the IRS already has the data to send you an almost fully completed 1040 for you to add a few pieces of data to, automatically recalculate, be done.
It doesn’t because of Intuit.

If your restaurant menu is a QR code instead of a printed menu I'm walking out. Don't ask me to fumble with my phone and hope your QR code doesn't install malware just so I can have a burger.

Okay I think the opener of the game is working now. It recognizes when you already have a save file so you don't accidentally write over your progress, too.

Believing that thousands of government employees (as well as dozens of different private companies that collect their own data) are all part of a vast conspiracy to hide an extra three points of inflation makes moon lander conspiracy weirdos seem sane by comparison.
