Marzo / March π π΅ β’ I thought it was cool each chapter was named after a popular song. As someone who is listening to music all day long, I appreciated this underlying theme. Another side story that made me feel empathetic was the cognitive decline of one character. But, it lacked some drama π β’ πΆπ

Our small lab continues to make small and big contributions to the science of pollinator risk assessment. Iβm happy to share our new paper available at @entsocamerica.bsky.socialβs Journal of Insect Science β’ #pollinatorsafety at Bayer CropScience ππ»π β’ Link π academic.oup.com/jinsectscien...
I was honored to be an invited speaker at the 2023 Larry Larson Symposium during the @entsocamerica.bsky.social mtng. The event provided an opportunity for collaboration and our collective efforts resulted in a paper published in American Entomologist. Check it out π academic.oup.com/ae/article/7...
Febrero / February π βοΈ β’ A sobering read. Probably the most consequential human disease π«π· in history and we rarely think about it, but itβs still causing a lot of suffering in the world π I wish there were more historical pieces of information in the book, but it was a good read nonetheless.
Enero / January πβοΈ β’ A nice story told from several POV, with double timelines, about love, loss, forgiveness, hopes, and dreams. I liked that the MCs were into π. There were some twists and turns, but I felt it lacked depth and drama. Iβd give it βοΈβοΈβοΈ/5
Por cierto, se aceptan propuestas en EspaΓ±ol.
Iβve been a member of this Task Force for over a year and I strongly support their mission to advance conservation for imperiled bumble bees.
Wishing everyone a strong start to 2026! π
Quick note: the Imperiled Bombus Conservation Task Force π (part of Pollinator Partnership) is accepting research proposals β‘οΈ graduate students and postdocs encouraged to apply. Deadline ποΈ is January 31.

MΓ‘s prΓ³spera? Menos problemas? Igual de bella ππ€π
2025 was personally challenging, but also deeply meaningful. I was fortunate to work alongside incredibly kind colleagues. We made progress in the Pollinator Ecotox Lab π, and while the work isnβt finished, Iβm grateful for the momentum as we move forward into the year ahead ποΈπ β’ #pollinatorsafety
Noviembre/November πβοΈ β’ this book grabbed my attention with the right combination of historical facts + biographical information of some of the greatest scientists + philosophical reflections about our 𧬠and what makes us human. I highly recommend it.
Octubre / October π βοΈ β’ Brooke my π¦ΆπΌπ©Ό and itβs been really hard and super frustrating. I just wanted something entertaining, predictable, and with a happy ending. A little ray of sunshine among the doom and gloom βοΈ

Septiembre / September ππ§π¨ β’ I hope this is a judgement free zone π«£ β’ I liked the series and decided to read the books. One of those cases were the series > books. Now we wait for the movie π
Agosto / August ππ§β’ Current affairs are depressing, I needed some sobering reading.
Julio / July π π¨ π π΅ β’ The book of summer 2025: Charlie Florek is a top tier book boyfriend π₯° β’ The other π I read in preparation for the Netflix movie. It was alright. I liked that it brought a different perspective: falling in love while facing mortality.
Junio / June πβοΈ β’ π years ago I was in the biggest farm in the πΊπΈ and I didnβt know it β’ This book is dense and some things were very hard to read, but learned about the farm, water management, government/laws, the farmers, and the communities in the San Joaquin Valley, CA π±ππ¨π½βπΎπ©π»βπΎ

March π β’ Book 1, another great recommendation from @quantitude.bsky.social. Enjoyed learning how statistical concepts and methods emerged, but the best part was how the book humanized these giants in statistics β’ Book 2, interesting take linking selected plants and human desires ππ·π¬π₯

December π β’ Motivated by my visit to Yellowstone National Park ποΈ this summer β’ Admirable women that lived/worked at the park in the late 1800βs/early 1900βs. Iβm inspired by their courage and how they broke barriers and stereotypes β’ YNP is wonderland indeed π³π¦¬π¦ π€©

I try to read at least one book every month β’ This is my November π, a recommendation from @quantitude.bsky.social β’ not the most entertaining read, but I appreciate the effort to make statistics more relatable and less complicated that it needs to be, plus the historical bits.
