I completely lost interest in Linux when I tried it around a couple of decades ago. Felt painful to install and use.

The one I used recently is called Mint/Cinnamon (however they name it) and it's quite simple to use. Might be a good starting point if you're like me and tired of wasting time.

Yes, okay but my point was I was using Win since those days (MS-DOS and DR-DOS prior to that).

Not fussed which OS I use now as long as I can do what I want without stuffing around too much. Win did that where versions of Linux I used many years back didn't.

I do like what I see now though.

Found my dad's old laptop and gave Linux Mint a run. Only using it for basic tasks and learning more about Linux but so far I'm happy with it.

If the d/heads at MSoft didn't stuff up Win so bad an old Windows head like me wouldn't be poking my nose in another OS. I miss Win3.1 😄

When I pick up my kids from school I see so many people sitting in those tanks idling while they either have the heater or aircon on. Some for at least 30 to 40 mins because they want the good spots. The fuel prices aren't smartening people up much.

The first thing that popped in to my head when I read that was "Daylight come and me wan go home."

I know, I'm not normal.

Perhaps Trump will dust off the tariff board and write 1000% next to China. (Be interesting to see how far the US falls in the next 5 to 10 years.)

There was a lot of incredible coding done early on because of the extremely tight hardware limitations. Dungeons of Daggorath comes to mind but there's so much out there. Be interesting to see how taxing bloat is on our current systems/devices.

I loved that game. Friend and I as kids mapping out the game and not being able to figure out so many of those areas.

If Albo was fair dinkum he would have told Trump he'd help out in Iran with our AUKUS subs.

My basic economics tells me if there's a shortage then they should be able to negotiate higher pay. I hope they do.

I voted Greens for the first time ever at the last election. Was already disappointed with the ALP and I didn't see a decent independent.

Call me unpatriotic, but I believe Iranian schoolgirls are worth more than American r*pists.

Fine - but a warning to the Australian government: Don’t even consider dragging us into this shitfight - it’ll be the end of you

Contrary to Albanese’s word association games with the Murdoch press, I don't think Grace Tame is "difficult". She just doesn’t like dickheads and pedophiles, it's really quite simple.

• I loathed John Howard.
• I despised Tony Abbott.
• I was disgusted by Morrison.
• I was horrified by Dutton.
• I feel utterly irrevocably betrayed by Albo. ScoMo 2.0 😔 🤬 #auspol

Does it seem like the entertainment industry has less fun people than in the 80's? Maybe I'm too old but I don't seem to see fun celebrities like Cyndi as often.

I just came across this. I had no idea this legend said this.

Yeah, the model the supermarkets use is one where they push people in to a situation where they have no choice. Buying up land and killing competition is all designed to disadvantage to customer.

Colesworth's arseholery has made me buy more farmers/locally produced products from way before this latest round of BS.
I try and buy the least amount I reasonably can from them. Always on the lookout on how I can use them even less.
