🔮 Coming Soon: I’ll be adding "Pre-set" modes in the future. If you build a dashboard you’re particularly proud of, share the link in the comments—it might just become a permanent template for everyone else!

Frictionless Sharing: No logins required. The system is URL-based, so you can simply bookmark your setup or share the link with colleagues.

What’s new?

Curated Views: Select specific plants (or many of the items on TerraVolt) and apply them to your dashboard.

Total UI Control: Drag, drop, stretch, and shrink tiles to design a layout that works for your workflow.

🚀 Big News: Custom Dashboards are officially LIVE on TerraVolt!

I’m thrilled to announce that it is finally here. You can now build your own fully customizable environment to track exactly what matters to you at app.terravolt.co.uk

There are some bugs to iron out still but it's in a position where "good enough" will do so if you spot anything weird or have some ideas your more than welcome to let me know!

Avoid ground faults by jumping over them, slide under grid surge gates & watch out for grid instability events as you may find your not as "on rails" anymore!

So, you get a new track each day that changes based on the real frequency changes - starting at midnight (sorry if your on nightshift you may find the track is quite repetitive until it builds up more data points)
But it also means you can compete with others each day!

So, earlier, hidden at the end of my update, was the mention of app.terravolt.co.uk/sinesurf browser game.
I feel this deserved it's own post; basically it's a simple run/jump game that generates it's track based on today's actual grid frequency data from ELEXON / @neso-energy.bsky.social

(7 of 7) Finally, something a little bit different. Grid data is, let's face it, quite boring. So to keep my attention, I've been building up a little browser game based on grid frequency. A seperate post will follow but I've named it:

(6 of 7) over 80 new plants have been added (many of them batteries) since I last went through them in June this year. I hadn't realised how far behind I was! But this is a big boost to improving accuracy across all generation sources.

(5 of 7) hidden (for now) from users but of great help is the development of some much needed tools to help me identify plants, them joining the system and those that leave it. Which leads me to:

(4 of 7) next there is the addition of CSV downloads on many of the pages.

And separately, a lot of bugs squashed (thanks to the user that pointed out the bug on the powerwheel which erased negative plants when Active Plants toggle was used - sorted)

TERRAVOLT Plant Visualiser This radar chart displays real-time power generation data organized by plant type. Click on a category label to zoom in.

(3 of 7) next I've added a lot of URL listeners, so you can share/link directly to specific dates and time periods.
I.e - app.terravolt.co.uk/plants/?date...

(2 of 7) Next up is the renewable contribution forecast - which maps forecast demand against renewables to indicate the likely fuel mix those days will have:

(1 of 7) So it's been a while but I've been adding a few more things to app.terravolt.co.uk - starting with Capacity view, which attempts to show how much spare potential generation I'd available at a given time:

6: "Extras" - Added A LOT of background Cache systems - this should ease calls made to API's substantially.
Started to add URL listeners so you can share links to that show specific dates, views, toggle states... handy if you want to share a specific days forecast.

5: System Operating Plans - Added new card which tries to unpick the Neso System operating plan. This is quite involved so I try to stick to things like trigger levels, STOR reserves...
Also added EAC Auction view for some of the more intricate schemes (DCL, DCH...)

4: Forecast Accuracy - ever wanted to easily compare the forecast generation against the actual? Now you can.
Sources used currently are the B1440 "In Day" Intra-Day feeds) vs the actual outputs (B1630) for Solar, Wind Onshore / Offshore.

3: New (non live) Maps: Embedded - Combined dataset of every DNO embedded asset known. It's massive (I'm at the mercy of the DNO data accuracy, of which there are some glaring errors to sort)
Other maps added: Small Scale Gen & Embedded Demand for certain regions.

2: Plants page - option to toggle from the "Power Wheel" to the Treemap view. This means mobile users won't have to deal with the crunched up round chart (unless they choose to) & is now the default mobile view:

1: New Dashboard card pulls in data from the system operating plan - highlights maximum generation loss & maximum demand loss planned for the current period.
Also tracks Contingency requirements & it's trigger point for EWM notices.

Now I have some better tools to spot this, it looks like Cleve Hill Solar Park (project Fortress) has gone live in the UK. A 373MW site (possibly the largest now operational one in the UK?)
Added to tracker and currently doing 246MW:

I'm not going to get too involved in the headaches that Spain & Portugal have in restoring their grid but for those interested in the UK, the plan can be found in OC9:

Currently absorbing 200MW. Unsure if the Stability function is completely live yet, it doesn't show a status via the BM like a lot of the others do, but that may or may not mean anything given the rest are rotary type - and this isn't.

and as ever, there's a lot to chip away at underneath...

I'm not massively happy with how it handles BOALF data yet, nor pulling in much from outside of the BM, mapping accuracy is also not great - but it's a step in the right direction.
It'll be a fair few weeks before I get any free time to do much, so it is what it is.
