im totally okay with them making silent hill into just a name for the series rather than a setting all of them have to use if it means we get games that are interesting! and the trailer + the dev interview especially for townfall has me very hopeful for it
my number 1 biggest problem with both SH2 remake and SHF was that they both force you into extremely tedious combat far too often (that gauntlet section at the end of F in particular is inexcusably awful)
the second they emphasized that you can avoid enemies if you want i was sold

Like my main issue with SH2R is that the combat is kind of ass which would be fine BUT you're forced into combat a lot witth enemies that are very damage spongey so it ends up just being tedious and annoying instead of tense. The curse of appealing to the Modern Gamer....
What sucks is that you can't say something along those lines without some dumbass going "erm well the combat in sh1-3 sucked though" while ignoring that it was intentional AND you literally don't need to fight anything in those games except bosses because of how the rooms work
I'm still very ๐ about how the combat gameplay in SHf looks BUT. The setting and story are both so interesting to me and I am a higurashi fan so I do have high hopes for the writing and especially the characters themselves
