I said it before, but Indian chillies will come over to borrow salt, get chatting, stay for dinner and then hold you up at gunpoint after dessert, mexican chillies will smash your door down, grab you by the collar and haul you outside for a solid beating
THE DARK, obviously....
Ugh, sorry to hear it. Stupid chemicals.

Go read "Bold But Not Too Bold" and "Cabaret in Flames" by Hache Pueyo (@hachepueyo.bsky.social). Both horror-adjacent.
The former is a lush, vibe-heavy gothic sapphic romance/mystery. The latter is a cannibal mystery/romance that's more plot-focused and political.
Both are truly superior works.
Speaking of old games, I'd love to write for Xenosaga. Because among other things, being a writer for Xenosaga would presumably mean I knew where the plot was supposed to go for the full five-game series, where in real life they had to cut it short in the third game due to the publisher's perfidy.
Pâtissier et Étranger book cover, mille feuille, coffee, paris scene, man with gun, UFO
I'd love to get more reviews for my novella Pâtissier et Étranger posted. If anyone would like a free copy of the ebook, please let me know.
This is a mash-up of baking romance, spy thriller, and science fiction set in Paris in 1967. Distantly inspired by Le Grand Blond avec une chaussure noire.

Peter Thiel probably wakes up each morning surprised that he hasn't been assassinated by a renegade cyber-ninja who has navigated the elaborate series of defenses protecting his bedroom while tediously searching for and collecting all the logs in order to get the game completion award.
Although clementines on average are sweet, juicy, seedless, and easy to peel, because of the vagaries of hybridization, any given fruit could be bitter, pulpy, hard to peel, and full of seeds. This is one of the bad ones.
ICYMI I'm fundraising for the increased costs of my continuing breast cancer treatment, so if you can spare a little something, no amount is too small.
Boosting this post helps too :)
Thanks!

Not that this is a positive or a counterpoint, but there's no moral compunction to be felt in blowing away drones and robots, assuming criminals ever felt that way about cops. Civilians will have little sympathy for police robots, anyhow. Could lead to more firefights in the streets as a result.
Horrified that you should be subject to this grievous annoyance.
A contact form reads: Subject: Checking Authenticity Body of message Hi there Beth. I have been contacted by someone who is using the email, [email blacked out], and using you name and one of your novels 'Feast of the Starving Stone: The Chef’s Five' to engage with me as a fellow author - if it is you then great, if it is not, as i suspect, then this is a fake approach. I just wanted to be sure. thanks. [signed name blacked out] You're a real person, right? No, I'm a bot. Please don't include existential questions in a contact form. Yes.
I just found out that an AI scammer is impersonating me in their spam campaign. I am LIVID.
Please, please share this post. Warn people. I’m horrified that someone might be ripped off in my name.
No one is safe from being impersonated like this.
Glen Cook has a good submarine-in-space novel, Passage At Arms.
If you've agreed to read a manuscript for the purposes of giving feedback and then feed it through ChatGPT to produce the feedback, you are the devil. Don't do that to your creative friends. It's not only unethical, it would put them in violation of no-AI clauses in contracts (including ours).
Trappings of the game were fun, but far too random.
I loved Kingmaker at the time but in retrospect....
Diplomacy, what a classic!

I must listen to the birds.
And in order to hear the birds,
the warplanes must be silent”

the romans swore oaths
never to kneel to a king
so too did we, once

I can easily understand not voting Labour, but switching to Reform, though I should know it's a real pattern, still amazes me
