Some really delicious soba at #Sousaku28 #Nagano π
Nice atmosphere and the service was top. Reminiscing makes me feel hungry now π
#Asakusa #Unana
Unagi onigiri - can't say it's the best one as some reviewers on Google said, but it was certainly delicious! No queue when we went in the morning, but on other times this place is supposed to have a long waiting time. Go try if you around the area π
#Ichiran #ramen - my first time trying and it certainly didn't disappoint! Long queue during lunch and dinner time too!
The #Tsukiji Outer Market is still as crowded as ever! Prices might be a bit "touristy", but lots of fresh seafood to satisfy your deepest cravings π
Oh, lots of stalls selling beef as well π
Visited the #Eorzea Cafe in Tokyo and also my first time to a game-themed cafe. The food and drinks are all FFXIV themed, and you get to randomly choose a FFXIV coaster per order. Kupo! π
Visited a #micropig cafe in Tokyo and they are all so cute! If you are lucky, they will run to you for cuddles. Or in my case, an employee carried one to me π
#MeijiShrine is a Shinto shrine in Shibuya, Tokyo, that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress ShΕken. The dedicated 'park' where the shrine is located is really large and with lots of trees, almost like a forest!
Stayed at the #Asakusa area and there were so many people! We realized we were back to the city, or rather a mega-city π
#Sensoji temple was also crowded, with lots of tourists!
While I'm #Nagano, we took the opportunity to visit the #Zenkoji temple and #Togakushi . The latter has 5 shrines though only visited one and walked along the path of 400 year old giant cedar trees. It was really a sight!
Snow Monkey day @ the Jogkudani Yaen Koen. We didn't get to see the monkeys soak in the onsen cause the weather was still warm, but I guess stil considered lucky to see two of them there. Glad we made the hike up!
Ended the day with an awesome meal of soba and some local craft beer π
#Kamikochi - a local told us that it's where tourists and old people go LOL
I think it's a scenic and a beautiful place. Recommended to go π
#TheKayotei - one of the highlights of this trip is definitely staying at this Ryokan. A private onsen and the oh-so-delicious #kaiseki dinner made the stay here so memorable. Highly recommended!
P/S - There are too many pics to show here, but the whole kaiseki course was awesome.
Otome Sushi received two Michelin stars in the special edition of the Michelin Guide Hokuriku 2021 βοΈβοΈ
We were so fortunate to get a place at Otome Sushi for dinner, which is an omakase restaurant. Reading the reviews, reservations are typically made months ahead π±
The food prepared by the chef was exquisite, using many local ingredients - the quality was so good! The pairing sake was excellent too!
The amount of work gone into making the roof is impressive and we were told that it costs around $200K to replace it π±
Fortunately, the roof lasts about 80 years before it needs to be replaced π
A visit to the ancient village in #Shirakawa-go a Unesco Wolrd Heritage Site. Here we get to see the #Wada House, where the thatched roof is made of #kariyasu or Japanese silver grass.
Tried the gold leaf soft serve ice cream in Kanazawa. This was matcha flavored. Also got to visit the Gold Leaf museum to understand how the extremely thin gold leaves are made. Fascinating! #goldleaf #softserve #icecream #matcha
