Thanks! Sometimes, if I'm lucky (and take my meds early enough), I can lessen the severity of an incoming migraine, before it really blows up and knocks me out. But then I have to be really careful over the next few days and try not to aggravate it, or it'll come right back! Brains are weird. 😅

I've been working on a new writing project, and having so much fun. ✨

Next step: I'm going to be reading and re-reading and analyzing awesome books like these. ♥️

P. S. I always share one of your Stimmy Kitty comics when I talk about autistic and neurodivergent authors, so it will be so cool to tell attendees that they can actually see you in person there at the conference! 😱

There are a significant number of neurodivergent librarians out there, so I've never felt weird for being openly autistic at events like these. People tend to be very accommodating!

And I also take frequent breaks. I give myself permission to not stress about attending every little thing!

As an author panelist, you'll likely hang out with your publishing rep, who will escort you to and from the panel session.

And I totally get the sensory overload fears! The exhibit hall is huge, so I wore sunglasses and earplugs whenever I went in there for author signings.

I'm super late in seeing this, but I'll be presenting at the TLA Conference in April! It'll be my second time attending.

Last year, they had a "green room" available for presenters to prep in a quiet place, and a "chill zone" area with comfy furniture and sensory-friendly stuff to interact with.

Saving this so I can find other library folks to follow! 🔎
