Haven't played FaB in almost 2 months now. Its been nice to save some cash but mostly it's just been tough to people with people lately.

Not to be too much of a mean petty hater on main but I think if your thirsting over Pleiades you have the most pedestrian taste imaginable. You should maybe also try listening to Taylor Swift and watching Marvel movies #FaBTCG

I don't have an issue with that style and tone in moderation. Everfest was fine. Part of it is that High Seas was pushing some of the puns and references and "crazy adventure" stuff, and now we are getting another set that ramps it up even further. 2 is coincidence, 3 is a trend.

After sleeping on it, I still am not a fan of Super Slam. If it's good mechanically, it will make up for it but I am concerned that FaB is heading in a direction I don't enjoy. I really don't want this game to turn into an aesthetic clone of Hearthstone.

I'll be honest, the level of ick I feel looking at this is right up there with the worst universes beyond slop in MtG these days.

And I'm not trying to shit on anyone who is a fan or the artists or anything like that. But this set feels "not for me" in a way that other sets I was uninterested in were not.

High Seas was very much the upper limit of how goofy and "fun" I want sets to be. Frankly it was over the line for me, but not egregiously. I really hope that 2 goofy sets in a row doesn't turn into a trend.

#fabtcg Super Slam is the first time I've had an outright negative reaction to the art style and flavor in a FaB set. Really hope they don't continue to lean into the "goofy" art direction we've seen lately.

It happened to me too. It was a painful matchup to learn because you feel like an idiot right up until it clicks.

I'm mostly making the git gud argument because I once despised playing into Nuu on every hero. Then I got gud.
Definitely agree that sirens call was a frustrating design but it was nonetheless something you could play around.

Hot take: Nuu was never a problem. FaB players just don't like to feel dumb and making the wrong choices into her fed into that. Nuu's power level was never an issue.

"I can fix her" is cowardice.
"I can make her worse" is the energy I want to see

This would unironically be a slam dunk 3 in Verdance

If there weren't conventions and tournaments here I would never willingly visit.

Ended the day 117th out of the 176 who made day 2. Very respectable.

Ended up 5-2-1 on the day, good enough to make my first day 2! I went into the day not expecting to do well, and I'm thrilled at my results.

R8 vs Marlynn ✅. My teammate and I both went 0-2 and we both needed one win. I'm sorry Tyler. 😭. Wasn't supposed to be this way

R7 vs Gravy 🪞 ❌. Closer game, and was able to watery grave their chum, but just lost too much value before they killed with overpower.

R6 vs Puffin ❌. They just slapped me around this game. Allies didn't line up and they hurt me.

Draft I first picked a (foil) Watery Grave. Ultimately my Gravy deck felt fairly weak, but I only needed one win to lock day 2. And in a pod with my teammate! Surely that won't be relevant though.

R5 vs Jarl ✅. I managed to keep my Grasp the whole game! Scythe is huge here though, made this so much simpler. 4-0-1 heading into draft!

R4 vs Florian 🪞 ✅. My version feels quite good vs the earth list w/tunic. Barkskin good.

R3 vs Cindra ✅. Blocked effectively and denied them opportunities to use MotPL. No AB means if they don't burst me down early it's almost inevitable. 2-0-1!

R2 vs Florian ✏️. Ended up going to time and drawing. Feel good that I would have gotten to fatigue if we had another 10 minutes, but neither of us were playing fast enough to make that happen.

Paired into Levi Rauch. Terrifying! It was my lucky day though, they were working the minmax booth and had to drop after getting the promo. A free win is still a win!
