I had a great discussion today with Charlotte Wolff-Bye, Fred Krupp, James Wiemken, and Michael Greenstone at CERAWeek focused on new approaches to familiar climate challenges. We should use every tool in our toolbox to address the issues at hand.
The world of carbon counting and reporting, and carbon accounting, consists of a range of systems with varying scopes and purposes.

Since @efifoundation.org was founded in 2017, we've advanced pragmatic, data-based, and coalition-building solutions for the global energy transition.
I'm proud of what we've accomplished. Learn more about EFIF's work here: efifoundation.org
I joined ABC News to speak on the escalating conflict in Iran. There is much speculation about the impact of regime change, but there are risks whether the regime collapses or not.

I look forward to sharing keynote remarks at Duke University's energy and climate summit next week to address clean energy finance gaps.
I applaud the @nichinstitute.bsky.social for convening the diverse perspectives needed to address these challenges.
As with each release of @efifoundation.org's Annual Report, I’ve shared some thoughts to introduce the report. This year, I reflect on 10 years of our existence as an organization -
It has been an eventful year in energy policy, with political uncertainty for investment and innovation. Our 2025 Annual Report shows how we navigated this environment.
The times have been challenging, and I am extremely proud of the team at @efifoundation.org.
Congratulations to Melanie Kenderdine, the Women’s Council on Energy and the Environment 2025 Woman of the Year, from all her friends at the @EFIFoundation. Melanie's contributions to clean energy and innovation throughout her career make her most deserving of this recognition.
Low-carbon markets continue to develop at varying paces, emphasizing the need to accurately track and measure carbon emissions.
By synthesizing financial accounting principles and carbon mass engineering fundamentals, @efifoundation.org has put forward a ledger-based carbon accounting system.
“If we can address both legacy and current emissions, we are way ahead of the game.”
In a recent interview with @climategroup.bsky.social, @efifoundation.org Founder and CEO @ernestmoniz.bsky.social discusses the missing piece in mitigation strategies & importance of continued innovation.
Energy innovation isn’t always about big breakthroughs, it’s also about steady improvements that cut costs and expand access.
Thank you, @climategroup.bsky.social, for hosting these important conversations this week in New York.
Now more than ever, the DOE should support end-to-end innovation to address energy demand. Building a staff that boosts U.S. competitiveness in the energy sector is the answer. @efifoundation.org's policy brief analyzes the impact of staffing cuts on DOE’s support of American energy innovation.
I spoke with @nytimes.com's Lisa Friedman about shifting energy policy as electricity demand is rising. The U.S. needs strong coalitions with an all of the above approach, rather than favoring individual energy sources.

In case you missed my conversation with James Cameron & @camanpour.bsky.social, you can watch below.
We discussed the power of storytelling to reframe the debate around nuclear weapons & how to mobilize the public to demand policies that pull us back from the nuclear brink.
It was a pleasure to speak at Aspen Ideas: Climate for a panel on “Rethinking the Rules for the Future of Carbon Accounting,” where I spoke with Mindy Lubber and @heidiheitkamp.bsky.social on necessary improvements to global carbon accounting.
This week, I had the pleasure of meeting with Governor @jbpritzker.bsky.social in Chicago to talk about the state's energy transition and his determination to make Illinois the world's center for quantum computing. Many thanks to @aspeninstitute.bsky.social for two days of stimulating conversations.
Geologic hydrogen has the potential to be a transformative force in decarbonization efforts. I look forward to discussing the future of this promising resource during an @efifoundation.org webinar on the current state of its exploration.

Those of us who participated in these dialogues must help carry on the late Pope’s legacy of caring for the Earth and its people.

In both convenings, Francis called attention to the welfare of the poor -- those most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
The dialogues led to two signed statements by the participants advocating for carbon emissions pricing and for climate risk disclosure.

I was privileged to attend two Vatican dialogues in 2018 and 2019, when Francis gathered leaders in energy services and in global finance for frank, closed-door sessions on the global objectives of environmental protection, economic growth, and social justice.

I am saddened by the news of Pope Francis’s passing. From the beginning of his papacy, His Holiness urged us all to consider the moral and ethical dimensions of how we shape the future, as captured in his 2015 encyclical ‘Laudato Si’, On Care for Our Common Home.

It was a pleasure to join Fox Business and discuss innovative nuclear solutions like Terrestrial Energy’s Integral Molten Salt Reactor.
This reactor model uses molten salt as a coolant to reach higher heat levels, a critical step towards meeting rising energy demand.
