Photo of lush indoor planting from a corporate office. There are lemon-lime Maranta at bottom of frame, ferns, calathea, and the smallest peak of a Paphiopedilum on the left. In the center of the frame is a dark leaved plant with reddish stems and light silver striping down leaves that Iβm drying to identify.
#PlantSky friends, I need your help π±
Iβm trying to ID the dark-leaved plant in this photo.
Any ideas?
The thorns on this one turn red when wet, which is pretty interesting, though as a cactus, it rarely stays wet for long.
They certainly have a fragrance, but Iβm on the fence if I think they smell good or not π
Albuca βFrizzle Sizzleβ in bloom π
These flowers always remind me of daffodils. While not true daffodils, they both grow from bulbs.
A Gymnocalycium saglionis cactus planted in a succulent garden where other succulents can be seen in background. The cactus has a light pink flower and a few unopened buds.
Here is Gymnocalycium saglionis, or the giant chin cactus. Itβs the only Gymno I have planted in the ground. The species is endemic to northwest Argentina, but seems to do well in my Nor Cal garden.
Very nice! I also love hiking and seeing cacti in the wild
Nice flower! Thanks for sharing your cactus.
Youβre welcome, Birdie. Happy to share.
Very nice!
Lovely! I like the soft pink color of this one.
Unfortunately, none have crested. But I think they may be old enough to bloom this year π€
Very cool. The golden rat tail cactus (Cleistocactus winteri). I grew some of these from seed several years ago.
Amazing! This one is really going off, you canβt even see the cactus!
A potted cactus from the posters collection with 10 bright orange flowers. The photo doesnβt do justice to how bright orange these cactus flowers are.
Such a nice time of year to be a cactus grower π§‘
Close up of Mamallaria cactus with yellow spines and 5 pink flowers. The flowers are low for this type of cactus.
I love the yellowish spines on this Mammillaria cactus. The flowers are nice too.
Wowzer. A beauty!
Would love to see that
I have just the standard orange. Yours look a couple weeks ahead of mine.
Blooming cactus, no ID but a Trichocereus hybrid type cactus with numerous red blooms that are not quite fully open. The cactus is planted in a mixed succulent garden bed by posters house.
There is still beauty is this world π΅β€οΈ

A small to medium size cactus (no ID but looks like a Trichocereus Lobivia hybrid) with many yellow flowers planted in a xeriscape garden
I have a lot of blooming #cactus for #PlantSky #BloomScrolling this week π
Absolutely!
A blooming cactus (Echinobivia Rainbow Bursts) with numerous large pink flowers.
Echinobivia Rainbow Bursts π
Awesome! I often collect seed from grocery store produce as well π
Bright pink cactus flowers in a dense cluster, blooming in a garden bed. Agave stricta partially blocks view of cactus.
Close-up of coral-pink cactus flowers with yellow centers against desert plants
Three large pink cactus flowers open wide with soft yellow centers and spines in the background
Todayβs the day for this one π΅
The blooms only last a single day β cultivar βEpicenterβ π₯
Very nice! I like the color
Not on this type for me. Blooming seems infrequent.
Subtle little white blooms on my calathea makoyana.
Not the main attraction, but I love when my calathea flowers πΏ #Houseplants #BloomScrolling #PlantSky
I love it! One of my favs
Tillandsia funckiana I believe.
