Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

Closing rural post offices will do the same thing that closing rural schools has done: Empty out rural towns.

Why? To sell off farmland for rock bottom prices to the oligarchs. Water and mineral rights and CAFOs polluting with impunity.

It’s been the plan for decades.

Well it was great seeing you in person tonight. I started following you on Twitter; and then left there for here. Good to know there are a lot of us fighting for a better Missouri!

@piperformissouri.bsky.social If you saw Graves in the doorway- it would be a great thing to let the press know. Loved there were over 200 people there - in a ruby red part of Missouri!

Thank you for sharing. I contacted a national news outlet and hope you and others are doing the same. Vitally important

Public schools are the heart of rural Missouri. Don’t defund them with vouchers and charters. - Public Voices For Public Schools I tell you the story of rural schools because we are in a fight to keep our public schools funded and open in Missouri.

Missouri is 49th in funding for public schools -- 50th in starting teacher pay. We don’t provide public schools with enough for the basics. The state funds just 32% of schools’ budget --residents must pay for the bulk of their local school budget through property taxes. pv4ps.org/public-schoo...

If you don’t have a library card go get one. Even if you don’t plan on using it right away, go get one. Keep our libraries alive.

Couldn’t agree with you more. Thank you for your courtesy in adding me. I’ve written more on this and have several mentees around the world. It’s a tiny thing but it’s what I can do.

Thank you for creating the outdoor writing starter pack. I just followed them all. I would enjoy being included among those if you like. My book, Biomimicry and Business: How Companies are Using Nature’s Strategies to Succeed, is just one of my pieces of work along with two anthologies

So glad you started this. Feel free to add me. I was honored to write about rivers for the anthology ELEMENTALS and have spent years working on their behalf directly and now through biomimicry.

And those volunteers can make all the difference, especially if the causes are being addressed in addition to caring for the symptoms. I’ve seen it many, many times. We’ve seen rivers on fire over here that have later been rehabilitated. Keep hope alive.

‘We’ve become distrustful of each other’: Braiding Sweetgrass author Robin Wall Kimmerer on Trump, rural America and resistance.
Her writing grounds me; and also gives me the courage to ask, “How am I complicit in the destruction of nature?”

Greetings! By way of introduction, I’m a writer, particularly about biomimicry but any bit of nature is fair game. Books: Biomimicry & Business: How Companies are Using Nature’s Strategies to Succeed, and included in two anthologies. The most recent, Elementals, has a grand array of nature writers!
