You can and absolutely should advocate for immigrants’ rights WITHOUT saying that immigrants built this country because no they didn’t. Enslaved Africans who were kidnapped and forcibly brought to the United States were the people who built this country.
The Black Church as an institution is so far away from that now that it functions are part of the problem now. Eyyyyye don’t want to hear about your particular church house! Im talking about the institution. That Druski skit was too dead on.
I think the nuance that is being lost is that the Black Church used to subversive, it used to progressive, it used to be bold going all the way back to slavery. Look how many AA hymns are about sneaking away, and freedom. Service with coded messages used to be held right under Massa’s nose.

When I’m president, I’m implementing a four-day work week.
It’s truly diabolical that we only get two days out of the entire week where we’re not at our jobs. And those two days aren’t even days we can relax because we’re catching up on chores, running errands, and preparing for the next five days that we’ll be working!!!

I hardly post about family issues, so you know if I do, that means I’m fed tf up.
And one of the main reasons why I hardly post about family issues is because I’m always thinking about how my family is perceived. I actually DGAF about that anymore; their image is NOT my burden to carry.
Mind you, when I move out, which I absolutely plan to do in 2026 come hell or high water, they’re going to act like they have amnesia and not recall how f*cked up they acted.
I have the most unempathetic parents ever. If you have parents who actually value your mental well-being, consider yourself blessed.
These people make it harder for me at every single turn, especially when they are already aware of the challenges that I’m dealing with. It’s f*cking unbelievable.
