keep making sloppy, unstructured data & firing your strategists, it’s going to be great
everyone’s all-in on AI-powered search until they realize they need a content strategist and some information architects to make it functional
I recently re-read Richard Hofstadter’s Anti-Intellectualism in American Life and now every time a Silicon Valley billionaire opens his mouth, I think about it. So I wrote about it for The Nation: www.thenation.com/article/soci...
In other news, I am really excited to share some new initiatives we're launching at The Rumpus including increased pay, writing and editorial fellowships, and microgrants. therumpus.net/2026/03/31/e...
After years of research, Daphna Renan & I are thrilled to announce preorders of SUPREMACY. Why is US democracy so broken? One reason is we've wrongly accepted that 9 justices have the final say over the Constitution. This book traces how that happened—& how we can reclaim power to govern ourselves.
say it louder for the people in the back
trying to force AI onto reporters of this caliber is fucking embarrassing
i feel like we are long overdue for an analysis of how the techno fascist right linked & weaponized femininity with democratic norms & progressive social ideals. someone has gotta be on top of this somewhere, right?

NBC News poll Voters hold negative views of Al. In fact, the only topics less popular in the survey were the Democratic Party and Iran.
Truly a perfect news alert
this is even worse! lol
imagine having the audacity to write this when the head of the armed forces is publicly talking about leading the u.s. into conflict to bring about the rapture
oo! i love charco & i don’t have this one. thanks!
what is the bookish vibe of my profile, i wonder?
The left is not "missing out" on AI. It's winning the argument. Americans worry about AI and dislike tech CEOs. They're mobilizing against data centers. They support regulation, even refusal.
Calls for the left to embrace AI are an effort to change the terms of the debate in Silicon Valley's favor.
i love it so much!!!
shorter version of this supreme court’s rulings on the constitution: racism is fine, actually, but don’t mess with our stock portfolios
noooooo
you guys…what are we doing here
i am all about healthy communication yadda yadda until someone does me or a loved one wrong & then it’s grudge city for eternity (i am irish & italian lol)
just when this hot libra could not get any hotter or more libra-esque, he starts marrying people (mr mayor, i am sorry this is the first time i’m interacting with your account, i am, despite all appearances, a serious person & a fan)
i am going to be thinking about this forever
Appreciators of Sylvia Townsend Warner, take note: the Dorset Archives Trust is fundraising to create a digital catalog of Warner's archive (85 boxes of documents & items!), making the whole vastly more accessible to the world.

Her community rallied so fast and so diligently. This is a victory to uphold and celebrate. Reminds everyone that it's worth fighting back.
lol sometimes it’s that antagonistic! usually i feel more like it’s a mirror, even if it’s uncomfortable or like you’re being read for filth lol
it’s funny to me when the cards are really literal. sometimes you’re going through a period when you’re like, everything is shitty out there & i feel like shit about it! and the cards are like, “yeah!”
ha! the vibes have been heavy & this card usually reflects that. it could also be about what’s coming to an end, what feels like a failure, what feels like a burden that’s too heavy to carry (especially mentally). but if you’re at the end of a cycle, another one is right behind it!
