A promotional poster for PyData NYC 2026. The header text reads, "Support open science and data by volunteering with PyData NYC in 2026!". The central image is a black silhouette of the Statue of Liberty, holding a microscope aloft instead of a torch, against a gradient sky of orange and blue over a city skyline. Scattered around the statue are various science-related line icons: a lightbulb with gears, a molecule, a chemical flask, an atom, a virus, a brain, a stack of books, a DNA helix, and a graph. At the bottom left is the "NUMFOCUS OPEN CODE = BETTER SCIENCE" logo, and at the bottom right is the "PyData NYC" logo with a cube graphic.
With the new year PyData NYC is looking for more volunteers! We stayed active with often two events a month and co-organized a conference with @pydatabos.bsky.social! We are the outreach arm of NumFOCUS so our goal is to support projects like NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy.
