I think I still have hope that something good could come of it though. I dont think the worst outcomes are garaunteed and there's probably interesting stuff they will learn up there

I was trying to think more positively about it cos I think space travel and research is cool, but the end goals that come to mind for that kind of research are a little depressing. if we find cool rocks we might strip mine the moon. if we can sustain life we'll try to escape earth rather then fix it

its too bad that posting your web comic on social media is the only way to get people to look at it these days, it makes trying to read the backlog so annoying

I have also technically been at it for years but spent most of that time falling off... But I really want to lock in too! I made better progress last year but I'm still not seeing the kind of improvement I want, so I think its time to reassess my approach a bit. Thanks again for the advice!

I have put off mining/anki because Wanikani is already an SRS, but it's problem is it teaches vocab to reinforce kanji memorization, not for commonality/usefulness. And I bought lifetime years ago so I feel inclined to stick with it, but I definitely need to do more immersion

Thanks so much for the tips! I have done a bit of immersion but struggled a bit. Audio can feel like a blanket of white noise and text is a little better but not recognizing kanji can be frustrating bc I cant "read it aloud" in my head. Even worse for images where I can't copy and search

when in the penultimate episode dr friendly diagnosed tonys love language as gift giving that felt like such a validation of tonys coping mechanisms and was the kind of personal healing i needed .. i was surprised tony didnt feel seen because i sure did

i ADORE in the lovepranos when tony loveprano and his jolly associates are always asking other heartalians “what part of the love you from?” and they get a shared cultural identity moment .. i just wish he didnt use his culture as a cudgel to beat down less privileged ethnicities 😨
