I didn't make it to Panguitch but the lava fields just south of there were completely unexpected and a really cool drive

Somewhere far off the beaten path in southern Utah

I thought maybe I'd get some relief from the gas prices and storm force headwinds I faced the entire drive out west with some nice tailwinds and decent fuel economy on the drive back east but nope, headwinds all the way

My fuel economy jumps from the high 20's on the plains to the mid 30's in the mountains, other than a little turbo lag my car loves it :p

I was mildly hot with daughter products for about 24 hours even though I was only at the entrance for maybe 30 seconds

At least dust can filtered. The alpha detected here is primarily from radon gas which will go straight through a mask and decay into its solid daughters in your lungs
