Just a warm up area before the actual rounds start, to get familiar with the controls etc

Main menu + new join lobby done. Pick your colour, ready up, and mess around in the pre-game arena while others are still joining. #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev
Decided to try polish a level, pretty happy with how its turning out. Looking forward to making it a bit more dynamic.
💣💥 Bombs now bounce off of surfaces correctly, making them a lot more useful than before when they would just slide once it hits the ground

New art style is now in the game, I'm actually happy with it (hopefully no more style overhauls 😅)
Character art still just a placeholder for now

I wasn’t happy with the art, so I’m going back to basics and relearning pixel art.
The start of the video shows where I began — the end shows my latest progress

Been working on a demo to get some feedback, started building some more levels. I still need to figure out what to name this game (pls help, suggestions wanted)

Spend time today figuring how to indicate to the player how many bombs they have left and the cool down on their gun. Decided to make the crosshair more dynamic to represent this

Love your work btw! I’m looking forward to once I finish with my game to make something using some of your assets ^^
➕ New player art added w/ animations

Some player concepts and mucking around with some ideas for items and hazards.

Stuck on the art for weeks. Settled on a high-contrast monochromatic look, inspired by Downwell.
Thinking of a mechanic where deaths and explosions "paint" the B&W world, making it more colorful as you play.
tips/ideas/feedback is welcome 🙏

This was the goal
Been wrestling with the lava shader this week. I'm going to come back around to this—shaders are hard... If anyone has some good recommended resources for shaders, please send 🙏
Adding some environmental hazards 🔥

Lots of game feel tweaks lately — refining movement, speed, and adding sound + particles to make everything feel more alive.
➡️ Going to switch back to focusing on the key things to get the MVP done so I can get some feedback soon.

✨ Adding some game juice this week:
- Added small jump effect
- Added impact particles for landings
- Refined blood particles on death

Took awhile to understand how Godot handles its UI layouts
but i finally UI for the scoreboard 🎉
➡️ Next up: Working on the level design, or improving the player design

✅ Bullets and bombs can interact with each other which looks pretty neat! You can now pre-detonation your bomb by shooting it.
#gamedev #indiedev
Removing the camera flipping effect when changing between surfaces because it felt too chaotic and confusing when the player changed surfaces many times, a static camera feels much better i think
#gamedev #indiedev
✅ More polish
- adding crosshair
- improved bomb effects
➡️ Next up
- adding melee attack and deflecting bombs
#gamedev #indiedev #godot
Love the art 💚
✔️
- Lots of visual improvements (art probably still placeholders)
- More tweaking of player controls
- Currently 3 ways to die are shown here (shot, explosion, or falling into space, more to come...)
➡️ Next up: Melee attack & deflecting bombs

Very ugly, but it works for now
✔️Working local controller setup with keyboard support
➡️Next, the fun stuff, actual gameplay

Sneak peek into new project
- Improved UX added a camera peek when the player is charging up to jump, so they can see where they're going

Thank you I like your DP colors too
Such a cute idea and game concept
