Finished RE Requiem this morning, earlier thoughts still stand. If you like Leon’s gameplay, then play RE4 or RE4 Remake instead. If you like Grace’s, play RE7 or RE8 instead. There’s nothing in this game that hasn’t been done better in other RE games IMO, making Requiem just a ho-hum entry.

Unfortunately, I think RE Requiem suffers from the same problem that RE6 had: trying to fit multiple campaigns into one game. Instead of focusing their resources on one really awesome campaign, they instead made a couple of mediocre campaigns and hoped that would be enough. Unsurprisingly, it’s not.

Just got to the “mortar” section in RE Requiem and yeah, this game is decidedly mid. After how good 7 and 8 were, to see such a huge falloff is a major disappointment. Hopefully something happens to change my mind, but this game is barely above RE6 for me.

Gotta say, not enjoy Requiem nearly as much as I was hoping. I was getting big RE6 vibes from it leading up to release, and unfortunately it doesn’t look like I was wrong.

Crazy to think that, in a span of just over a year, Square Enix has released 4 different Dragon Quest remakes that are all solid, but we’ve heard nothing on Dragon Quest 12 in like 5 years.

Not quite sure when the next opportunity is for SE to reveal FF7 Part 3. Maybe Summer Games Fest? What if the plan is to make multi platform a huge selling point and Sony didn’t want that message in their showcase?

I think that if we’ve learned anything this NFL season/playoffs, it’s that the Bears have certifiably found their QB1 for the long term. Caleb had some bad interceptions this last game, but he was stellar throughout the season and has washed away any concerns that he was a draft bust.

Not gonna lie, RE Requiem is giving me some heavy RE6 vibes. Kind of worried that Capcom is repeating the mistake they had in 6 of having a bunch of mediocre experiences rather than one focused, memorable campaign. I’m hoping I’m wrong, though.
