I don’t necessarily think that it’s useful for serious political figures to endeavor to fully dissolve — as opposed to regulate and constrain — corporate entities, but I’d make an exception for Palantir. It cannot coexist with liberal democracy and it openly says so

Bike lanes do take space away from drivers.
Why not get rid of sidewalks too, hell school zones really slow drivers down..get rid of schools! While we're at it i'm kind of tired of those pesky residential areas with their people and stop signs - no more homes! Nothing but roads and parking lots.
A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies — including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought — are not able to apply for direct relief. The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."
The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.
it’s so cool how most LA politicians wake up in the morning and are like “how can I make it harder to build housing today”
Our only hope to make LA a well-run, pro-housing city is electing Nithya Raman as mayor
It wouldn’t have been my choice, but it works.
My doctor’s office finally got a bike rack after years of my complaining.
Say what you will about the worst members of the Roberts Court, but they all make sure their wives are in on the grift.
Jane Roberts, Martha Alito and Ginni Thomas are equal partners with their husbands in the grand project of destroying the United States and enriching themselves in the process.
Sammy Roth @sammyroth.bsky.social has written about the ties between pro sports and the fossil fuel industry. Now the Texas Rangers, sponsored by a ff pipeline company, have placed a statue honoring a segregationist outside their stadium, highlighting the racist legacy of the fossil fuel industry.
NHTSA to the American people: It's not me, it's you!
You drive too fast, you drive impaired and distracted, you don't use your seat belt. 1/3

Yes, accompanied by much hand-wringing about how we need to ban them.
The kind of AI that techbros and governments are pushing is not the internet, or cell phones, or personal computers, or heavier than air flying machines, or the wheel.
It's the digital equivalent of asbestos, plastics, teflon, and lead.
There’s no way for-profit incarceration ends well for society.
Secular news outlets like CNN do a terrible job of covering religion. They really don't get religion at all. The accurate headline would read: "as the administration continues to integrate religion, particularly christian nationalism, info official business."
A macroeconomic take on what’s happening to our economy.
May Day coming soon ✊
As always, it’s the cars
4 runners seen side by side running down the middle of the road. The road is quiet and safe because it is in a low traffic neighbourhood
Two kids cycling side by side down a quiet road within a low traffic neighbourhood. Other cyclists oncoming in the distance
‘Quality of life’ isn’t a big house, luxury goods or a fancy car. It’s being able to cycle your kids on safe streets or run side by side down peaceful roads with your friends. Everyone can & should have this.
Worth noting that our climate change denier POTUS, who gets marching orders and money from the fossil fuel industry, is willing to commit war crimes to keep oil flowing. This is where denialism leads.
I'm really just fed up lately that lots of otherwise progressive people have decided traffic violence is an issue that we simply cannot address. How can people claim to care about equity and ignore the toll of car dependency?
Cover of Mother Jones with an image of fingers pointing at John Roberts and the coverline "Blame John Roberts for Everything"
The NYT big expose on SCOTUS today pairs well with @ariberman.bsky.social and @pemalevy.bsky.social's cover story on how ~everything wrong with this country today can be laid at the feet of John Roberts: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Amen to this.
I got one of these solar generators and it’s a great portable backup power system, well designed and scalable.
One wonders if Roberts feels any sense of “insult and suspicion” towards a President who thinks he is above the Court and the law itself. Oh, wait, Roberts has given that President unprecedented deference and discretion, even when credibly unconstitutional.
Our unsafe streets are another social cost borne by all for the perceived convenience of drivers.
However low your opinion of the Roberts Court, it should be lower.
Climate denialism on the high court
This has been my experience as well, except with me it’s my spine. Walking can be painful. Biking gives me freedom of movement (especially on an e-bike).
People can’t afford groceries, rent, or healthcare, and this jackass is focused on building a gaudy monument to himself. Just incredible.
Waking up to discover that evidence has been released proving something we all knew. The Supreme Court's efforts to stop the Obama clean power plant rules were rooted in explicit, corrupt efforts to protect the fossil fuel industry.
John Roberts is a partisan hack.
