The technical issues related to LLMs are very hard to solve, and they will not be solved if it stays hidden from public attention and nobody invests on it.

There are many high profile people, including some that own social media platforms, podcast hosts, etc. where there is the perception of credibility. There are TV networks that put out BS on a daily basis.
The “ChatGPT said” can be replaced with “Google said”, “the President said,” and so on.

Humans are posting lies and misinformation all the time and people believe them to the point of electing… well, who got elected, and that’s your argument against LLM’s?

By reading the responses here, it is clear to me that a lot of people have no clue on what is possible with LLMs, and they will be left behind.
