How can we build a local culture of reuse in a city? How can we get unused devices from orgs to people who need them, and make this model self sustaining? These are questions we’re excited to explore as we extend our work with Coventry Council in our recently announced partnership. #circulareconomy

Online retailers now have to help pay for collection and recycling of electronic waste www.gov.uk/government/n...
Thank you @bikeabilityuk.bsky.social Wales. Huge confidence boost for my nephew and a great space to try out adapted bikes. ❤️ so important that he gets to exercise - and he can’t wait to go back! Fab to see so many other families all loving the feeling of freedom that cycling brings
Build it and they will come! One year after digging the pond we have a newt! Amazed at how much wildlife we have in the garden after some nature friendly planting and digging a pond. Dog not so interested 🙃
Great to see UK government taking circular economy seriously as part of their future strategy www.gov.uk/government/s... hoping electronics and Ewaste will enter the strategy soon given we have the 2nd highest Ewaste per capita in the world….
Windy but lovely.
Closed residential street with children playing in the road
Playing out! A roadside picnic, biking/ scooting/ in- road tennis, and chalk drawing. Not to mention meeting new neighbours and a 92 year old neighbour who loved chatting to the children. My sister and neighbours are creating a Play Out /Play street and it was fab! playingout.net/play-streets...
Thanks @ianwalker.bsky.social for my ‘new to me’ refurbished AirPods from @backmarketofficial.bsky.social All set with a good book, some fab tunes from Welsh band @cvcband.bsky.social and some bright sunshine for a blast on the train over to Prague.
Spring. Phew.
Great research from GSMA launched today Mobile Phones: The Business Case for Circularity. Consumer interest in refurbished phones continues to grow as a way to save money, get a higher end device and minimise environmental impact. It shows circularity as a business opportunity- a view I champion!
Microplastic on a beach with a crushed bottle top and dog paw and ear for scale
Beaches often look clean, but look closely and you’ll spot the microplastic- washed up, and trodden into the soils- often where the cows graze. We can’t just recycle more and make more from recycled plastic. Reducing plastic consumption means cupboards (and the fridge!) look different, but better.
Great to see!!
A proposal by the City of London to encourage reuse of existing buildings and other circular economy measures will become policy within the coming weeks, the authority has announced

There's a very exciting marketing/comms job going at @wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk! If you've got the right skills and want to make a difference for the mobility and equal access of disabled people, give this a look wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk/new-job-alert/
Circularity is often thought about only through a material use lens. However reuse, repair and redistribution has huge social and economic benefits for people too, as the report on reusing devices from @green-alliance.org.uk shows green-alliance.org.uk/publication/...
Pointer dog looking through window
Dog kindly helping with the garden bird count (although I think she’d rather be pointing at them outside)
It’s the RSPB’s garden birdwatch this weekend- the largest garden wildlife study in the world with over 600k watchers! Sign up here- it’s just an hour of your time. community.rspb.org.uk/ourwork/b/rs...

Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come.
‘Respair’, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.
Here’s to a few drops of respair in 2025.
Amazing murmurations on the Somerset levels tonight. Thousands and thousands of starlings. A fabulously calming and grounding way to start the silly season
