People complain about printf debugging. When bringing FreeBSD up on a new arm64 server, it was crashing before the console was working..So no prints, just a reg dump from FW.

A colleague did a patch where we copy status codes into the sp_el0 reg that the FW dumps on crash. Console now works! :)

These are the same NIMBY's that wanted to shut down free lunch on campus b/c it hurt local Mountain View businesses, and yet complained constantly about the traffic caused by Googlers commuting to campus. Now imagine those same Googlers all going out for lunch at once..

Rather than buying Honda Civics for everybody, I think a better use of $4.5B would be to build high density employee housing on campus. That would improve traffic & reduce competition for scarce housing. They tried to do this in ~2015 when I worked there, but Mountain View NIMBYism shut it down.

The new Twitter logo looks exactly like every X11 application logo in the 90s. When the twitter app updated on my phone, I was like “ Cool! Did I install a X server in my sleep last night?”

Yes. Same here. My “work” account has always suffered from this. My personal account is now starting to look like this now that I spend more time on Bluesky. I think the algorithm just starts to generate notifications from wider sources when there is nothing more organic

I get that feeling that this happens when you and the accounts you follow stop engaging with twitter. You have few organic notifications, so then they fill your notifications with spam like this

What I'd like to see in all medical offices (car dealer service dept waiting rooms, etc) is the elimination of loud, obnoxious TV. Those are way more annoying than people using phones..
