After taking my final today, I am officially half way through my Masters of Nuclear Engineering!

Also numerical methods are really interesting.

As much as I complain about this class I have actually learned so much and am thinking that I want to make a career shift into CFD for nuclear applications. I understand the theory behind everything now and it’s so interesting. #engineering #nuclearengineering

Idk if I’m just bad at academics or if I am taking hard classes. Every semester where I take my thermal hydraulics concentration classes nearly sends me into a mental breakdown come semester project and finals time. I am on the struggle bus.

Five years ago today my undergrad graduation was cancelled. I posted to facebook that “as someone not pursuing a graduate degree” it was my last chance to walk across the stage. Well dear reader, that “someone not pursuing a graduate degree” is now half way through a masters of nuclear engineering.

Somehow got a 90 on my midterm for my multiscale two phase flow class. I am gonna call that a win.

I took an exam and I ran out of time on it. Ugh… engineering is hard. I had something for each problem but I didn’t get to show that I knew what I’m doing in the time. Because I did know the material.

Never thought I would be making a crib sheet again but here we are. I have a multiphase flow midterm on Wednesday. I’m trying not to panic as I tend to be a nervous test taker.

Being 5 years put of undergrad makes applying the calculus I learned freshman year (multivariable if you are an RPI person) to derivations I am doing for my masters degree homework pretty difficult. Ugh…
