A living systematic review, meta-analysis, and open data resource of trials of MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) has emerged as a potential treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), generating considerable enthusiasm in the field. However, rapidly changing evid...

🍄 Our new living systematic review and meta-analysis on MDMA for PTSD is now live on medRxiv. Here's what we found and how we built upon our open science infrastructure to support it 🧵

We think of white matter as the highways of the brain. But when we followed development along those highways, we were surprised. The journey is more complex than we thought. My final PhD paper, “Two Axes of White Matter Development”, is now out in @natcomms.nature.com! 🛣️🧠✨

Adolescent maturation of cortical excitation-inhibition ratio based on individualized biophysical network modeling Individualized simulations reveal a decrease in excitation-inhibition ratio in association areas throughout adolescence.

🧠⚖️📉 How does the cortical excitation-inhibition ratio mature during adolescence?
We asked this in our new paper just out in #ScienceAdvances
“Adolescent maturation of cortical excitation-inhibition ratio based on individualized biophysical network modeling”

We think of white matter as the brain's highways—uniform conduits between cortices. But what if we study development along tracts? Turns out the journey matters as much as the cortical destination! We're thrilled to share “Two Axes of White Matter Development” www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

a black and white image of the inside of a human brain ALT: a black and white image of the inside of a human brain

Are short-term memories just noisier versions of what we perceive? Are they fundamentally different? We (Chaipat Chunharas, @mjwolff.bsky.social, @meikehettwer.bsky.social and myself) delved into this in a paper out now in #elife: elifesciences.org/reviewed-pre.... For a quick summary, a 🧵 below:

Microstructural asymmetry in the human cortex - Nature Communications The human cortex displays an anterior-to-posterior asymmetry, identified via both post-mortem and in vivo microstructural measurements. Microstructural asymmetry is heritable, varies across cortical l...

Thrilled to share my latest work "Microstructural asymmetry in the human cortex" now out in NatComms. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
This work used cytoarchitecture (BigBrain), T1w/T2w, qT1, and MT measures to bring the cortical asymmetry from macrostructure to microstructure.
