For today’s #LayoverLibrary, I’m reading ‘Inclusive Transportation’ by @veronicaodavis.bsky.social. The book is a must have for any planner or project manager, and offers a framework for better engaging with diverse communities in transportation projects.

TONIGHT’S new-ish book in the #UrbanismBookClub is an important one — “Inclusive Transportation: A Manifesto for Repairing Divided Communities” by @veronicaodavis.bsky.social via @islandpress.bsky.social (2023). Foreword by @tamikabutler.bsky.social, cover art by @martyn.bsky.social. Great read. 2/
I took @veronicaodavis.bsky.social’s advice and just finished ‘When Driving is Not an Option’ by @nondriver.bsky.social.
Honestly can’t recommend this book highly enough, especially if you work in/around transport.
Involuntary nondrivers need more recognition, voice & power in decision making.
Causing a fuss where ever I go! 🤣
I see you @veronicaodavis.bsky.social 👀💖
Also chapters by @veronicaodavis.bsky.social @theycallmeoboi.bsky.social and lots of others. Just downloaded!

Happy #earthday! What better time to share the news that I'm featured in @islandpress.bsky.social's new e-book, Resilience Matters: Ten Years of Transformative Thinking. My piece urges greater focus on older adults' needs in climate action. Get your free copy here: islandpress.org/ten-years-tr....
Late reply, but I didn't see anyone mention "Inclusive Transportation" by @veronicaodavis.bsky.social and had to right that.

Good morning all! Special good morning to all the members of Congress who voted no! I pray your breakfast is nutritious!
The take away for me as things popped of you had 1 group (confederates) that was meeting and was organized. Everyone was falling in line. The union was struggling to respond. The number of conflicting messages sent through pony express created confusion.
I’m reading “The Demon of Unrest” by Erik Larson, which is about the start of the Civil War. I have 100 pages left.

I want to introduce a policy that all people are required to have XXX number of therapy sessions starting on their 25th birthday. A lot could be avoided if they both went to therapy.
PREMIERE ALERT: Please tune in this Friday, March 14th at 2 pm EST for my conversation with Ryan Russo, Executive Director of the National Association of Transportation Officials (NACTO) @nacto.bsky.social about the organization and their new Urban Bikeway Design Guide. youtu.be/riyBnrNOxBk

HE SAID WHAT HE SAID!!!
First of all, Rep Green is about his business. Of all the project briefings I had to do with the Houston delegation, he made every one and he was always so kind! Second of all, THESE ARE NOT NORMAL TIMES. This is the energy we need.
I loved working for him.
🤣
BlueSky - Has anyone done a study on the walk speed of a teenager? Specifically, around high schools and especially if they are in groups?
