Why don't consumer adopt real-time pricing contracts? In my new working paper, I develop a stylized economic model that identifies barriers to RTP adoption. It suggests that non-energy charges (such as grid fees or taxes) reduce time-varying signals and hence the effectiveness of RTP. Link below 🔽
