So often when someone is killed by a driver, we get stories from neighbors about how speeding has been a problem on the street. These deaths are preventable. These deaths are policy choices.

I was talking to a private wealth manager the other day and she was telling me that she's been feeding her private data into Claude for help writing memos to clients

I go, "You know that's a two-way mirror and they can see all the stuff you're putting in there, right?"

She goes, "Huh, I guess so…"

Mouse still active in my apartment, landlord and traps not working, what can I do?

I live in a super small studio apartment in Beacon Hill and have been dealing with a mouse in my apartment since February 24. Maintenance came last Friday and said they sealed a gap behind the oven, but the mouse is still active. The exterminator set traps and poison, yet nothing was caught even when I was away for a week and still haven’t. Edit: additional information - I’ve only see it come out from under the oven.

Edit: I’ve also tried those scented pouches, the exterminator left bait stations, and I’ve also made a mint and cinnamon spray. None of these helped.

I can’t keep living like this, the apartment feels unlivable and I’m at my wits’ end. Has anyone dealt with a persistent mouse problem? What actually worked? Should I escalate to 311, hire my own exterminator, or explore legal options?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Omar: There were hundreds of millions in oil futures traded just minutes before a reversal in US policy on Iran. This is corruption. At DHS, we got a reckless spending spree, planes, vanity projects. It's like a billionaire's midlife crisis, except the American people are paying for it.

I do think it's important to draw a distinction between Flock cameras and red light/speed cameras. For example, in Massachusetts the budget authorizing these cameras has some clear guard rails about usage aimed at addressing surveillance concerns.

"Don't wear headphones, it's dangerous"

For the folks in the back: I call out these hi viz,no headphones, blame/shame campaigns because we had decades to figure out what works (and we know what does)

It's not like road violence snuck up on us last week and we had to scramble to find a solution.
