It’s easy for them to invent enemies that don’t exist because people want a reason for why the standard of living has dropped so much in the last 20 years. They aren’t going to blame billionaires, they’ll just set us against each other and without hope for ordinary people they’ll win.
I won’t argue that real democracy is probably more at threat than ever, and that in this country Reform are probably the biggest threat to it. That said to win elections against the likes of Reform you to give people a decent standard of living.
You can’t make elections about “ at least we’re not them”.We need to see genuine help for the struggling people of this country. More public ownership of utilities, less private interference in the NHS, better wages and pensions and stronger laws protecting workers rights. The rest is just fluff.

There’s no excuse not to take the water industry back into public ownership.They’ve done none of the modernisation that was promised before privatisation, they’ve just hiked up prices and loaded themselves with debt to pay massive unearned bonuses.

Watching a heron fishing while walking with my wife, it occurred to me that although the world’s gone a bit mad in the last few years, it’s still pretty wonderful at times.
I think it’s important that he’s ignored so that he can learn that his opinions in this country are just opinions. There’ll be an election in 4 and a half years when the electorate can decide who leads the country. X and Facebook should be told to ensure fake news is policed or be switched off.
Strong return to TV , I’m more sceptic, my wife’s more believer. Doesn’t matter either way though it’s always thought provoking and interesting .
